"Come on earthquake!!"

Hey....there ya go. Some judge makes a ruling you don't like, so you think all of the good citizens in CA should die. Very odd.

Why not just let this ruling get overturned and stop wishing for people to die in a natural disaster?

I heard it, too.

The timing is suspect with Roberts hearing ongoing.

Perhaps they're attempting to get a rise out of him.

In any case, it's funny that pledge has been around for decades and only recently has it been questioned.

Our motto: In God is our Trust
Last Line of the National Anthem: In God is our Trust.

The last religion rulings of the Scotus determined that those monuments erected with a religious end in mind should be treated differently than those erected without a religious end in mind.

"Under God" was not included in the pledge for religious reasons but rather, for political ones at the dawn of the Cold War.

Charles Schumer's idea of a "mainstream" judge no doubt.

The same guy? If he didn't have standing before, how in the world can he have standing now?

We should change the Pledge to say:

"One Nation, under a rock, with liberty and justice for minorities and other selected liberals."

Return to the original pre-Ike version. Problem solved.

ABSOLUTELY! Thanks for bringing it up. I wouldn't mind it being trimmed BACK to what it was, originally.

Some other SF decided same thing a few years ago. Overturned on procedural ground, ie: Plaintiff's "Standing."

This is the same guy as before......... Michael Newdown?

Same clown.

Since the last time the US Supreme Court did not rule on the issue, the precedent set by the 9th Circuit is still the law in California. The US Supreme Court simply dismissed Newdown's case for lack of standing, without ruling on the validity of his constitutional claim.

Now this judge says he's still bound by the 9th Circuit rulings.
