Shoot first, ask questions later.
Talking to your mortal enemies is a real good idea.
o,
What do you expect? The Globe's parent company is the New York Times.
Maybe we could get them into the "Crescent of Embrace" and take care of two problems at once. : )
I'm armed and ready.
In other words, he's an Al Qaeda sleeper.
To either convert or destroy it. Conversion, destruction, what's the difference?
I wouldn't be surprised . . .
Kind of like Tojo writing an op-ed for the Globe after Pearl Harbor Day, 1944.
LOL!
As a Massachusetts resident, nothing could be closer to the truth!
"The writer of this piece is a shining example of ignorance is bliss."
That is exactly the mistake that we as Americans have been guilty of; not to see the evil in this man, but to think that he is merely a well-meaning though misguided individual.
By this theory Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot and Mao were well-meaning leaders who had the national welfare of their countries in mind.
For crying out loud, realize that there is such a thing as E-V-I-L that often hides itself in a cloak of goodness.
Habla MOAB?
This may be a bit far afield - but yesterday (on Freeper website) Ms.C. Rice said we had to push more on Israel. Give up more land, etc.
Sent an article to the WH asking why this administration was trying to destroy Israel.
If the nation of Israel can be forced by us to negotiate with thugs and terrorists and hope for positive results what in the world are we doing in Iraq? Why don't we follow the advice of Ms. C. Rice and negotiate with the thugs and terrorists and solve our problems.
Reasonable or idiotic? Maybe we should take a poll. Would that be politically correct?
"Mark for later deportation?"
Agree. This idiot has either:
1. Lived in his academic ivory tower waaaaay too long and has lost all sense of reality,
2. Is, in fact, a mouthpiece for Al Qaeda, (complete with "anonymous research funding" of course),
3. Hates the USA and would like nothing better than to see the terrorists succeed,
4. All of the above.
A disgusting piece of rhetoric in the Boston Globe, this "newspaper" has obviously lost its mind. The good "Dr." is a sorry product of academia who should be put on a watch list. Sorry, but I just can't stay silent on this one.
I only wish you had printed Mohammad-Mahmoud Ould Mohamedous September 14 Op-Ed piece (Time to talk to Al Qaeda?) a week earlier.
That way, when your telemarketer called last week offering a discounted subscription to the Boston Globe, I could have cited your publication of this article as Exhibit A in explaining why I would not take your paper even for free.
Bad enough that the deluded Mr. Mohamedou advocates a policy of appeasement towards al Qaedas despicable and murderous agenda, even though the sad history of the 20th century clearly demonstrates the tragic futility of such a cowardly response to brutal and barbaric acts of war.
But for him to seriously assert that Sept. 11 was not an unprovoked, gratuitous act is disgusting beyond words especially given that so many innocent men, women and children from the Boston area lost their lives that day.
You should be ashamed to have provided a forum for such anti-American gobbledygook. Why dont you appease those of us who take deep offense at your inability to recognize true evil when you see it by apologizing for your appalling lack of editorial judgment?
Also, journalists who reported enemy propaganda were tried for treason.
Sure, the same way we talked to Imperial Japan during WW II: demanding unconditional surrender requires communication.
Note that this traitor and enemy agent goes out of his way to legitimize Al Qaeda's methods, as well as their objectives and their authority. If so, what basis would he have for opposing a similarly ruthless approach on our part: mass bombing of civilians, paid media and academic shills, torture, assassination?
Note that this beast is collecting a fat salary from one of our allegedly best universities.
This is the true voice of the left in this country. Those who legitimize the savagery of Al Qaeda also legitimize literally any measures taken against them. Many here say that civil war is coming. Let it come.
