LOL! I think you're right! I'd be furious were I his wife. Democrats would be wise not to make Roberts an enemy, but they're not wise.

Depends on which Democrat has the nerve to take on Roberts again.
To: onyx
I'm not sure, onyx, you're probably asking the wrong person. I'm afraid I'm sort of marginally paying attention.

I'm old enough too, but I can't recall him running for POTUS...lol.

Sessions is asking a good question on stare decisis: Isn't the first loyalty to the Constitution?

Hello! I wanted to see what everyone thought about this. What does everyone think about the possibilities the John Roberts is not a Constitutional conservative, like Thomas and Scalia, and turns out to be a closet liberal like kennedy and souter, or a moderate who sides with liberals instead of the intent of the Constitution like OConner? This has been discussed here a lot Im sure, but there are LOTS of posts here now. :) So far, I havent seen or heard a thing that would make me think he would not be a conservative Constitutional Justice, but I was wondering what everyone else thinks.

OK. I can endure Feingold.
Oh-Oh, mentioning the Pledge of A again... and the activist 9th Circuit.

Not so much his voice -- his accent is just more marked than people are used to hearing after all these years of radio and TV (which used to train their announcers in "General American").

I think that Bush 43 learned from the mistakes of Bush 41.

Lindsay is PUMPED! I can hardly wait to hear him today.
He's really mad about that activist judge in CA.

Sessions just brought up the 9th circus ruling vis a vis the pledge. EXCELLENT!
To: minus_273
Did he say "majority" leader? I wasn't paying CLOSE attention.

The man worked for years in the White House. It is inconceivable that he did not discuss his views on issues with his colleagues. There is not much of a paper trail on him, but that doesn't mean there aren't people who know him well.
There are of course no guarantees, but this looks like a wonderful pick. We won't really know for many years.
