Woman gets pregnant after 'acrobatic joyride'

From: From correspondents in Hassloch, Germany September 12, 2005

FERTILITY scientists will be pricking up their ears at the news that a woman who had been barren for several years has conceived thanks to a ride on a particularly fierce rollercoaster.

Nayade Elbing, 28, and her husband Arnold had been trying to have children for several years and had consulted doctors in the hope of scientific help in their quest. But according to their doctor, Thomas Gent, it was G-force, rather than hitting the G-spot, that made the difference.

After making love at home, Elbing and her husband visited their local entertainment park in Hassloch, Germany, which boasts one of the world's fastest and most acrobatic rollercoasters, dubbed Expedition GeForce.

A week later, tests showed Elbing was pregnant.

"We believe that she conceived due to the G-force of the rollercoaster ride," Dr Gent said.

Cuban-born Elbing has since given birth to Leandro Elias - who has been given a lifetime pass for free rollercoaster rides.

From their website:

Episode 30: Son of a Gun

It's survived untried for nearly 150 years: The myth of the Civil War soldier who was shot clean through his nether regions and the nearby woman who became pregnant when hit by the traveling bullet. Good luck, Jamie and Adam! Then the two test just how dangerous it is to use the telephone or take a shower during a thunderstorm. Finally, Scottie and Kari attempt to re-create the voyage of a hapless pair of boating greenhorns who set out to sea without first detaching their boat from their car trailer.
premiere: March 30, 2005
As I recall, the show was somewhat "PG" with live sperm in a bag, and historical Civil-war era weaponry. IIRC the conclusions were more or less based on the findings that a fired bullet would have been at a temperature too high to keep the sperm alive long enough to do its "thing", notwithstanding the incredible amount of ricocheting required...

I've always thought that was urban myth - thanks for the confirmation!

Cleopatra kept herself unpregnant by sneezing after having sex. Same thing here only opposite. Those little swimmers stay alive for what, 36 hours?

36 hours is one thing I'd heard, 72 hours another.
*shrugs*

Dunno, they can extract DNA evidence from it even 50 years after the fact if a 'sample' were preserved in one fashion or another.
That was the only info that had been of interest to me.

So the sperm count increases on a roller coaster. Wonder if they'll do it again for the 2nd child?

G-force meets G-spot and all hell breaks loose.

When I was a kid going to Six Flags, it was the Speelunkers' Cave ride rather than any of the roller coasters that would be the prime suspect for her condition. (That or the cable tram.)

I'd hit it.

(though I pick up on body language that she's probably involved in some intrigue w/Adam)

And you believed him? Where and when did the swimmers get encapsulated in a bag?

Reminds me of a story Rush told on his show years ago. A woman managed to get pregnant standing on her head after using a turkey baster ...

Her inside parts must have just been knocked around to the correct locations...Voila'. Everything is fixed. :)

I used to have a TV like that - no picture until you knocked it in the right place.

Did she have a turkey or a human child?

I mean someone had to ask these difficult questions. LOL!
