A special that interweaves the devastation of Hurricane Katrina with New Orleans' history. Learn how the city, built precariously below sea level and between two bodies of water, came to be. What engineering feats made it survive for as long as it did, weathering other dire storms? Why did the various systems fail this time? How did so much of the nation's oil and gas repositories come to be in this environmentally fragile area? Was there anything that could have averted the disaster, given that the meteorology predictions of Katrina's path were quite accurate? Hear stories of shame and heroism that etch this devastation into our nation's history forever. This special mixes news footage, personal video, historical archive, and expert and witness interviews into a compelling hour looking at this disaster from a technology and historical perspective. Katrina is current events, not History.

It would be nice of the History Channel to wait until something IS history before they decide to assess it.

This used to be such a good channel...

I've seen a pattern where the History Channel programs evolve, like the 911 Special I watched Sat. night mentioning Able Danger.

I stopped watching the history channel after their idea of a Christmas special was a documentary postualting the Virgin Mary was in fact raped by a Roman soldier.

They didn't show a clip of the DNC's Black Caucus Al Qaeda boys hacking off Michael Brown's head did they? Anyone know which site on the net has that clip?

What do you all think happened to the History Channel? I think that when it was bought by ABC it became a MSM tool.

Katrina is current events.

True. New Orleans, on the other hand, is history.

I am also tired of gay people homes being feature on all these Home and Garden type networks.

I used to like watching these home shows, but now it seems its always some gay couple.

Like they are the only ones with nice homes. It has truly disgusted me. I hardly watch these shows anymore.

According to the History channel

There is only one biblical scholar, John Crossan.
And Marcus Borg is his prophet.

There is no NT Wright or Ben Witherington III. Nor is there any scholar who might interupt the "debunking" with a dose of reason.

It's amazing how they already know how everything will turn out --- especially when they are following their own play book since the very beginning of this.

A planned catastrophe - murder thousands for the political gain. The plan was laid - then came the event. Just N.O. bad luck.

I do believe they call that an attempted coup, do they not?

That's why the WEAPONS CONFISCATION?

They always have to go after the conception. But they never want to look at the fact this man asked for his enemies' forgiveness to the Father, dying, and bleeding, to his slow and painful death.
A regular man would not say such things-- he'd curse his enemies and ask God to strike them down.

The History Channel gets lots of their facts wrong so this latest propaganda is not surprising. They slant history from a PC perspective making it fluff. I have emailed them about getting their facts wrong but the sponsors need to be warned IMO - money and the lack of it talks with these lefties.

It should be called the PC History Channel.

One of the things that irritated me was last Thanksgiving they had a all day UFO-a-thon.

This used to be such a good channel...

You're right! The Liberalization of the History Channel is one reason we cancelled cable.
