Cindy Sheehan Aide Claims Levees Dynamited To Protect Rich

A member of Cindy Sheehan's legal team and Veterans For Peace fundraiser, Andrea Garland, claims the New Orleans levees were dynamited to protect "the rich part of town." And that the subsequent flooding was the result of officials using "too much dynamite":
Andrea Garland

Also heard that part of the reason our house flooded is they dynamited part of the levee after the first section broke - they did this to prevent Uptown (the rich part of town) from being flooded. Apparently they used too much dynamite, thus flooding part of the Bywater. So now I know who is responsible for flooding my house - not Katrina, but our government.
This outrageous claim has been heavily promoted by the Howard Dean paid shill site, the Daily Kos, here and here and probably elsewhere on that un-navigable site.
This story has also been picked up by self-proclaimed "American hero," Dick Gregory, as reported in this recorded interview from the CNS with the unfunny man:
"It (Hurricane Katrina) didn't hit, it went down the Gulf," Gregory said. "And nobody is asking, if it missed, where's this damn water coming from? Who shut them pumps off and who's going to investigate those two barges with dynamite on them that hit that levee," he said in reference to the failure of the city's levees and water pumps, which were intended to protect the city from flooding.
Andrea Garland stands to gain financially from promulgating such a tale. Ms. Garland is working closely with the VFP and their point man, Ward Reilly, in their scam to raise funds on the back of Katrina victims. (Discussed here and here.)

Of course, Cindy Sheehan herself is also deeply involved in the VFP's boondoggle, which they call Camp Casey III. The VFP's fraudulent activity has also been vouchsafed for and heavily promoted by Michael Moore, as well as many leftwing organs, including the Howard Dean paid shills at the Daily Kos.
Authorities are investigating the VFP's Katrina relief claims. Apparently some actions have been taken to stop their fraudulent activities. As even Andrea herself almost reports.

Yes, Cindy. That sounds about true. Now, let us help you back to your room and get in bed so you can take your pills and they will make all the bad things go away.
How stupid are these people?

"Apparently they used too much dynamite, thus flooding part of the Bywater."
I wonder just who the "THEY" are. Are they referring to the Army Corps of engineers? If so why in the world would they use dynamite when they have so many more better and gooder explosives? Or is this another case of Bush underfunding the military and dynamite is all they could afford? Since the modern military is not that experienced with such an old fashion explosive, this might explain the over blowing of the levee and the flooding of the better (white) neighborhoods.
Questions, questions. We have so many questions. :)

Apparently some actions have been taken to stop their fraudulent activities. As even Andrea herself almost
reports:
September 11th, 2005 Well, folks
. its been a long and interesting day. I apologize - no pictures will be posted tonight.
A whole lot of BS went on today and its not worth going into too many details. Suffice to say that Jeffrey and I returned back to the camp in Covington from a supply run to be surrounded by a dozen police officers asking for our ID, all sorts of questions, wanting to search our van
all about this renegade RN that showed up last night offering us lots of medical stuff, long story short we gave him a ride to his van last night and they had to make sure we werent in cohots - with someone who it now appears was being pursued on trumped up charges as after all the nonesense they let the dude go. I know, thats all very incoherent, but thats the best I can do.
The important news to impart is: WE ARE GOING HOME.
Translation? They were busted by the Covington police. The police had been informed that the VFP were lying about their claims of "supporting" the Red Cross. Apparently, they have sent the Veterans For Peace frauds packing.
But you can be sure there will be no cessation of fundraising for Katrina Relief from them. Indeed, this has yet to be reported at all on their own site.
But Andrea isn't through. She goes on to promise proof of her outlandish claims:
I dont have the energy to explain, so Im just going to tell you all how it is. They are trying to take our city from us. Thousands upon thousands of poor, mostly African American citizens of New Orleans were murdered. Those levey breaks? Dynamite. Dont ask me for proof yet - just give us some time, we will get it to you. The ones that didnt die were starved. The rest, evacuated. To quote one of our state reps, who now claims the quote was taken out of context, they solved the public housing problem in New Orleans.
As of now, the death toll from Katrina in all of Louisiana stands under 200. (Which actually is not far out of line for the usual death rate for the state.)
Andrea Gardner is a well-poisoner. In a better world she would be behind bars. Of course, that may happen yet.

The dynamiting of the levees is also being "reported" (promoted, propagandized, etc.) on the VOZ DE AZTLAN website ( go to www.aztlan.net). There, Ernesto Cienfuegos (I believe he once worked for Bill Clinton's administration) argues several claims: (1) that the levees were breached to evict property owners who were black but poor, (2) that the people who were shot dead were contractors trying to prevent a levee breach, (3) that portions of the collapsed levee were examined by chemical experts who found residue of powerful explosives not available to ordinary consumers...(hint: Bush and company did it).

The Feds could not have dynamited the levee, since Blanco wouldn't even let the Feds into New Orleans.Navey Seals, silly, I heard they were involved in the rescue campaign. Now we know what kind of "rescuing" they were doing. But frankly, I'm not going to believe this until I hear it directly from Cindy's mouth. Gawd, I just love her.

The upscale part of town. Garden and French Qtr had less trouble water-wise than some others.
