Well, folks…. it’s been a long and interesting day. I apologize - no pictures will be posted tonight.
A whole lot of BS went on today and it’s not worth going into too many details. Suffice to say that Jeffrey and I returned back to the camp in Covington from a supply run to be surrounded by a dozen police officers asking for our ID, all sorts of questions, wanting to search our van… all about this renegade RN that showed up last night offering us lots of medical stuff, long story short we gave him a ride to his van last night and they had to make sure we weren’t in cohots - with someone who it now appears was being pursued on trumped up charges as after all the nonesense they let the dude go. I know, that’s all very incoherent, but that’s the best I can do.
The important news to impart is: WE ARE GOING HOME.

Translation? They were busted by the Covington police. The police had been informed that the VFP were lying about their claims of "supporting" the Red Cross. Apparently, they have sent the Veterans For Peace frauds packing.

But you can be sure there will be no cessation of fundraising for Katrina Relief from them. Indeed, this has yet to be reported at all on their own site.

But Andrea isn't through. She goes on to promise proof of her outlandish claims:

Thousands upon thousands of poor, mostly African American citizens of New Orleans were murdered. Those levey breaks? Dynamite. Don’t ask me for proof yet - just give us some time, we will get it to you. The ones that didn’t die were starved. The rest, ‘evacuated.’ To quote one of our state reps, who now claims the quote was taken out of context, they solved the public housing problem in New Orleans.

As of now, the death toll from Katrina in all of Louisiana stands under 200. (Which actually is not far out of line for the usual death rate for the state.)

Andrea Gardner is a well-poisoner. In a better world she would be behind bars. Of course, that may happen yet.

This is clearly psychotic.

I thought Sapphire told us that this site is about discussing/debating issues. This thread started by Andrea isn't in the least about issues, but her personal attack(i.e. "best not to throw your feet up on the flag-draped coffin, smile, and give the peace sign) on the peace movement. That's just my opinion.

No, I did not want to hear that I was right. I figure Cindy reads this, and want her to know she needs a handler. As you can tell by the photograph, she needs a handler. If someone from here talks to her (which is more likely than me posting this at Code Pink) she needs to know that she needs a handler. Do you see the repetition in this paragraph about her needing a new handler? She needs a new handler.

I am not digging up anything. She is mugging for photographers in a way that detracts from her message. If she and her current handlers think it is a great idea to pose for pictures like that, then she has an uphill climb.

As I said in a long post somewhere else, I left the first peace "movement" (only protests and meetings but that is about all there really was) becaues the message was too broad and they handled it poorly. The people up front - mostly people from the ISO - kept going on and on about Israel. When I suggested they may want to rethink their message and focus on the issue at hand, it was like I had p***ed in their morning cheerios. Cindy has that problem, too.

So now when I say things like "Do you *really* believe that Wellstone was murdered by Bush" and "Do you *really* think that Bush killed the people in New Orleans" then I am a big jerk. When someone posts some evil Israel / Jewish connection to 9-11, that is all fine and dandy.
