Well, 9-11-01 was a beautiful sunny day. Those cops and firefighters probably would have stayed home if it had been raining and whatnot. < /sarcasm >

Rush is playing this clip now. He is laughing saying if a white Senator or white Governor of the Republican party said this the "racist" comment would be blasting her.
She is implying that the black employees won't work even on a sunny day. Imagine if Trent Lott had said this?

I've thought about what she said, and as she followed up with a commenta bout mass transportation, I've reached the conclusion that "their people" is not a reference to the city emplyees, it is a reference to the entire population of the city.
Having a hard time getting the people to work on a sunny day describes traffic snarls, accident response, etc.
Plus, it is just like a liberal to think of the entire population as "theirs."

Is it just me, or do others see the once fairly attractive Mary Landreau looking more, and more, like the Hidabeaste in appearance as she grows older and more liberal?

She avoided answering a number of questions but she did filibuster. That's what democrats when they're they don't want to answer questions.
They also like to lie a lot.

Also, this happened on a weekend. They didn't want to lose tourist money by calling for evacuations on Saturday.

September 11th is just another day for a Democratic Politician trying desperately to save her mangy hide.
If you listened to Landrieu's interview with Chris Wallace, Landrieu doesn't have a clue and is looking to blame everyone excpet her.

I saw this pitiful woman being interviewed by Chris Wallace yesterday on FoxNews. What a POS--but Chris nailed her on the local reaction to Katrina. He played a clip of her Bush-bashing on the floor of the Senate to lead it. She did not want to talk about the locals--at all. Excuses for them, but no quarter for Dubya.
THEN--she had the NERVE to say the Republicans were doing the finger pointing, to whcih Chris looked at her in amazement and said "But it was YOU who was doing the finger-pointing on the Senate floor." He got her *ss good.

A Republican would be hog-tied for saying something so obviously racist. She'll get the usual pass from the MSM.

It's interresting because as more time goes by, the more clearly foolish comments like ones landrieu made Sunday morning are. I mean, her continued refusal to place any blame on any Louisiana democrat is so blatant it's humerous. She's toast in her next re-election. There will be such a surge of democrat anger in LA, I can't wait to go to LA and help volunteer somewhere. I'm glad where I am in Texas is so close to the border. I am looking forward to joining whoever runs against her, and volunteering to do whatever they need. mary landrieu is my big pet peeve now, and adding that seat to the Republican U.S. Senate majority is something I can't wait to watch unfold. Defeat landrieu, and that will be a major blow to democrat politics in Louisiana.

I doubt that this was aimed at New Yorkers. (She's not smart enough to have thought of that.) More likely, it is reavealing about her own father's administration when he was mayor of NO. I think that it is more insulting to taxpayers who pay the salaries of workers who won't work.
She and Blanco both need to be sent to the garbage heap. Both of them are insulting to capable female managers everywhere. Can you imagine Maggie Thatcher or Golda Meier runnign their countries this way?

Stop the presses ... did you all hear Rush repeat Nagin's words? Get them to a higher ground and then depending upon our state and federal officials to move them out of harm's way after the storm has hit."
After the storm has hit? So in other words, leave them in harm's way during the storm???

"Mayor Nagin and most mayors in this country have a hard time getting their people to work on a sunny day, let alone getting them out of the city in front of a hurricane." This is perhaps the only thing she said that is the truth....if she was talking about the paper shufflers and non-safety oriented civil servants.

Is Mary Landreau calling her constituents "shiftless?"
