Does anyone have a video tape of FOX News coverage on 9-11, 2001, one that starts with the tape just shortly before the attacks on the WTC took place, or a tape that started immediately after they first started coverage. I really want a tape of that to watch every 9-11, especially to show my kids when they're older, so they can better understand what happened, by being able to sit and watch it as though it was happening live. If anyone has a tape of this, or knows where I can get one. Please let me know. Or if FOX News has them for sale, please let me know where at FOX to contact. Especially since it's been 4 years now, and the liberal media and democrats want to forget 9-11 as soon as possible, since it's not an election plus for them. Thank you.
Allen.
Sure don't, sorry. If anyone, anywhere has tape of the plane that hit the Pentagon... I'd like to see it.
I have tapes of that day, but I didn't get home and start taping until around noon on 9/11, so my tape picks up a few hours after the towers went down...
I am SURE that all the networks, especially FOX, have the tapes available for purchase - check their stores.
booked
Better to watch the tape of ABC so you can show them Peter Jennings' contempt for President Bush on that morning.
And they say the media isn't biased.
Wow thanks for the quick responses. I'll keep checking here. I definitely will check with FOX, see if I can track one down. I hope I can. I want to be vividly reminded of it in detail every year to keep it fresh in my head. It should never be forgotten or stop being seen because it's "old". If anyone has the place on FOX to go, please post. Thank you for the help.
I don't hav eit. But I HIGHLY recommend the HBO special on it. They use video taken by people with camcorders in NY at the time. Rudy Giuliani is very prominent in the video, and does the opening. It is very compelling and it really does make it feel like you are there.
I purchased it when it came out, for my nephews who were too young to understand what was going on at the time. I plan on showing it to each of them when they turn 12 or 13 or so.
I have never seen a better documentary on 9/11.
The best I saw was on the History Channel. It was on all day with the history of Islam, OBL, Ground Zero, etc.
You can order the disks from the history channel.
"I don't hav eit." = "I don't have it."
PROOFREAD, SD!
It is very difficult to get true "as it happened" news tapes. I have a backlog of such tapes - the berlin wall, chernoybl, the stock crash, etc. My VCR was out that day, which kills me.
The reason you can't find unedited "as it happened" IMO is 1)cost and 2)I have found that news people, for all the standards they hold Bush up to, are CONSTANTLY wrong.
They call almost everything wrong! They start with the world is ending, make assumptions that turn out to be totally looney, and usually make totally inept and wrong statements they don't want to be held to.
They don't want you to hear CNN saying dumb stuff like, "Maybe there is a problem in the control tower" on 9/11, or them calling states for Democrats that end up in the Republican column two days later.
Is that at hbo.com?
I have 700mb of WTC clips but none are of Fox News, however they do bring back that terrible morning very well, some are news clips, some are tributes set to music
hey thanks, does it show things in order as they happened?
Hey thanks for the url. What's that like? What all does it contain? Does it have the feel of watching it as it happened?
Yeah I wish I would have thought to tape it. I just was so totally taken back by it all, I didn't think about taping it until that night around 7 PM. I started watching a few minutes before the second plane hit. I wish I'd of had enough of my brain still engaged that I would have popped a blank tape in and started taping.
Yes. Even the tapes from flight attendants to base as hijackings occur.
