Later this morning I will be leaving California to travel to Mississippi to help with the hurricane relief effort through Samaritan's Purse. Ten people from our church will be going into southern Mississippi to help with cleanup and relief services for the next ten days, but I am a member of the advance team. I will be driving non-stop for the next few days with a friend. We are carrying the tools and supplies needed and will be meeting the rest of the group at the Jackson airport after we arrive.
I know that there are many God-fearing Freepers out there and I am asking for your prayers. I have to admit that there is an element of fear as I embark on this task, but I know that God is with me and that He will bless our efforts. But I ask for your prayers for strength, safety, and a safe return. I also ask for a safe journey to and from Mississippi and for protection for our families while we are gone.
I want you know that I've really grown to appreciate you folks. It's great to know that there are like minded people out there and I thank you for your support. I'll give you all a full update when I get back. But again, please pray for me!

When I read your title, "Into the Heart of Darkness," I immediately thought you were going TO California, rather than coming from there. Anyway, God bless you in your work!
