I'm not sure how strict the punishment is. I do know that I regularly see many names listed as DUI arrests. I never see anything that states what happens to all those drunk drivers.
Almost everytime I go into a gas station to pay for gas I see at least one or two people buying a beer and the cashier automatically puts it in a brown paper bag. If you watch you will see them drive off with the brown paper bag held up to their mouth. They also have drive through daiguris (sp.) stores.
