The issue: Four years since the terrorist attacks
Our view: Part of the 9/11 healing process is bringing bin Laden to justice.
Four years ago, our nation was changed forever on this day.
This year, for the first time since those horrific terrorist attacks, we feel as if the nation is finally starting to heal - events and activities are scheduled for this day without nearly the anxiety felt in 2002, 2003 and even 2004.
But even though it's important to heal - and to focus on a more recent human tragedy in the Gulf - we can't ever forget what happened on that crisp morning in New York, Washington, D.C., and in a Pennsylvania field, a man whose last words were "Let's Roll" died just after he heroically led a failed attempt to regain control of the doomed airplane.
Today, we cherish the memory of those who died and honor those who perished trying to save these most innocent victims of terror.
We can't forget what happened four years ago, and that's what makes the fact that the evil mastermind of the attacks remains at large such a travesty.
We've spent four years and in the neighborhood of $400 billion on the "war on terror," so far, yet the man who did this to us is still on the loose.
We owe it to the victims' families and to the nation to hunt down Osama bin Laden and bring him to justice.
Wow, such insight!
No thanks. Split his skull with a 50 cal round, suck his brains out, consume his eyeballs and send him to the swine packing plant to be properly splayed and canned for mad muzies worldwide.
Not finding OBL has been a huge disappointment to me. He and Ayman Al-Zawahiri should have long ago been captured, milked for all the info they were worth, slowly and painfully tortured to death, and there worthless carcasses hung out to rot.
AMEN
In before the zot.
The goal of the War on Terror is to prevent another terrorist attack on the US not catching one man. It is the liberals that have tried to make it about one man. If it were just about one man we could leave Iraq right now. But, the war isn't about one man its about making America safe from terrorism. And, if we took out Osama it would be great, but Zarqawi would just cement his control of the entire al-Qaeda network and our troops would have to put their boots on and go out on the hunt like any other day.
The CIA is all knowing and all powerful.
They have inserted radio transmitters in the gold teeth of all African Americans to control them; they have satellites that can give detailed rectal exams from earth orbit; they have lasers that can pop the zit of a 13 years old from 50 miles away......
Yet, where's Osama?
Uh, it wasn't a liberal who vowed to get Osama "dead or alive"
The war on terror have a broad purpose, but if it doesn't include capturing the terrorist who did 9-11 then it's not a war worth the name.
:-)
Duh.
I agree..It would be GREAT to get that bastard but not all that much would actually change Im afraid . I'm sure everything possible is being done to get him as we speak..I'm sur eof that
The hole he is in wont protect him forever. And it may end up his grave. I know our special ops guys will never give up. Ever.
Ha! Your sarcasm is so true it's sad. Over the past couple years we've been shown that the CIA shouldn't be allowed to operate machinery as complicated as a PC or automobile let alone conduct a global manhunt. They're truly inept.
pardon my ignorance, but what does "zot" mean or stand for?
and a special thing to note. remember all the liberal wacks predicting OBL would be caught just before election day? That we had him on ice? Didnt TeRAHza say something like that?
Sure hope not
We are hunting Bin Laden, but the problem is we aren't allowed in Pakistan with anything but a handful of troops. And, that isn't going to change, which means we just have to come up with better ways of finding him like getting people inside his organization or trying to bribe people already in his organization.
Bribing the ISI with billions would work the best.
It took us less time, after Pearl Harbor, to capture Hirohito and kill Hitler (force him to kill himself), then it's taken us to get Osama after 9-11.
20 billion to Pakistani ISI and we could get him overnight, but would it be worth it to make that kind of deal with the devil?
