Time favors gay-marriage proponents

C.W. Nevius

Saturday, September 10, 2005

Social conservatives in California are feeling pretty cheerful now that the governor has said he will veto the same-sex marriage bill. And yes, across the country, 11 states, including California, have passed bans on same-sex marriage.

But here's some advice: Enjoy it now. It isn't going to last.

-SNIP-

Michael Phillips sells real estate in Silicon Valley. He is listed on gay real estate Web sites but sells to straight buyers, too. His point is, when it comes to houses, neighborhoods and schools, there isn't much distinction.

"Once you get those kids and a house and a mortgage,'' Phillips says, "people say, you know, they're not that much different from us.''

Phillips has been with his partner for 22 years, and they are raising a teenage son. Confirmed Catholics, they go to Mass once a week and volunteer in the parish.

I wonder if they ever recieve spiritual guidance from the pastor. Doesn't sound like it.

And this, folks, is the reason why homo "marriage" has to be stopped via a constitutional amendment, not laws. It takes an act of Congress to change a law. It takes an act of The People to change the Constitution. And The People overwhelmingly reject homo marriage.

Well, as soon as California legalizes gay marriage, the pastor can bless their union, perhaps at a solemn high mass with a large contingent of altar boys.

I sure hope that Benedict will get us going on the right road and The Church gets a thorough sweeping. Really hopeful sign is the visit to the Seminaries coming soon

The real problem is that if the anti-gay marriage faction can't count on people being shocked and horrified by gays, they really don't have much to fall back on.

Well, except for 5,000 of western civilization and the laws of God and man. But gay awareness classes in high school should be enough to counteract all that.

Western civilization? Isn't that what they used to teach in college before they replaced it with gender-sensitivity training?

The concept that time favors the leftist agenda has been around for a long time. If the courts were still seating liberals and the liberal coalition was still winning elections I would say they are right. But liberals are against our men in uniform, against our Boy Scouts, against energy independence, (unless it comes from not using fossil fuels, but they are against nuclear energy). They are against drilling for more oil, building more refineries, and pretty much in favor of taking every dollar a rich man earns and giving it to some welfare project. The homosexual-transgender-gender confused equal rights group really should be stopped before they acheive full acceptance and normalcy.

There are two truths to explore here. First is that every parent (if a vaccination existed) would immunize their children against homosexuality. "Oh wouldn't it be nice if our son went out with another boy once in a while?", Is another utterance you simply won't hear. Parents accept homosexuality in their own for the most part, but they don't hope for it.

Fianlly, the last hope of the homosexual movement is the Political Corectness and socialism coming from the teachers, and the teacher's union. This is manafestly not something that schools need to teach, It does not help pass the required school assessment exams. If the homosexual movement is going to be stopped, it must be stopped by parents expressing their concerns about the ciriculum and pulling their kids out if necessary.

I doubt they were married in a Catholic Church. So with the passage of time, deviancy has become normalized? I dread living the last thirty of years of my life seeing what's going to become of our society.

Meanwhile, in neighboring Oregon, a horrific civil union/gay-marriage/special-privileges-for homosexuals-and-transgendered bill, SB 1000, was passed in the Oregon State Senate on July 8, 2005, but so far has been stalled from coming out of committee and going to the Oregon House for a vote.

SB 1000 would have changed every reference to marriage in Oregon Law. Essentially legalizing same-sex marriage by labeling it civil union.

The bill is horrendously far-reaching like a giant octupus and would, if passed, have snaked it's way thru hundreds of marriage and family laws on the books on Oregon, eliminating the words man and woman and marriage and substituting the words partners in civil union. It is a very sickening bill and would have done horrible damage if passed.

Among other things, SB 1000 called for compulsory homosexual teaching in schools; it would have required Oregon schools to teach on the subject of gay and lesbian sexuality. The broad language of SB 1000 would have opened the door to sweeping statewide changes in the way individual school districts choose to address the topic of homosexuality in the classroom.

Businesses could have been sued for firing a homosexual/transgendered person, even if the business didn't know the employee's sexual identity. It would have forced businesses, churches and other places of public accommodation to allow transgendered individuals access to restrooms, showers, locker rooms or other gender specific facilities, even if the person biological gender is different from the facilities designated gender. Instead of risking legal action, managers of these facilities would be less likely to question anyone’s use of these facilities no matter what their gender.

SB 1000 would have threatened the hiring practices of Oregon’s religious institutions.

In Nov, 2004 Oregon voters passed Measure 36 by 57%, stating that marriage in Oregon is between one man and one woman, but that didn't stop Gov. Kulongoski and the homosexual lobby from pushing extremely hard this past spring to try to get that very nasty bill passed.

The bad news is that it's not dead yet.

Western civilization is crumbling before our eyes. But lets not let it collapse without a fight! The advocates of (barf) same-sex "marriage", pro-choice infantcide and mercy-murders of the helpless are enemies of God and man. Win or lose, we must fight them, because there is no honor in capitulation. The sentiments of William Barrett Travis,in his first appeal for help for the outnumbered Alamo garrison are appropriate here:"If this call is neglected I am determined to sustain myself as long as possible and die like a soldier who never forgets what is due to his own honor and that of his country. Victory or Death!"

Right. If you leave out the male on male sodomy and the recruitment of children...no difference.

"People are very nice to us. I have never had anyone say we don't belong,'' says Phillips. "I mean, we aren't in there holding hands, but I also don't think people are stupid. They know what is going on.

They (the priests and parishioners)  know what they  are doing behind closed doors. I wonder to what parish they belong?

2357 Chastity and homosexuality

Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity,141 tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered."142 They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.

2358 The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God's will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.

2359 Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection.
