Confusion continued to be a problem in many areas:_ Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco said that radio equipment and portable generators she requested from the federal government a week ago had yet to arrive. Federal officials said they were tracking down the status of the items.
Seems to me that evicting 10,000 peopls is a waste of time at this point. I'm not convinced that going postal is going to look very pretty, or accomplish all that much.
I saw them drag that old woman out of her own house yesterday on FOX.
That was disgracful. She was in her own house, for Petes sake, and she asked THEM politely to leave. Instead they drug her out.
I hope some of those attorneys we all love to hate so much (Including me) have been hired by her and are preparing a $100 million suit against the city.
All of us will be safer for it.
Remove the innocent while the gangs run the street. The NOPD screwed this up under the direction of Eddie Compass who has lost all of the little credibility he had before the storm.
A good portion of your officers leave their post, some loot and others drive their squad cars to Houston and you DO NOTHING. Now you know why no one respects you especially those who stuck it out and did their job with honor.
You should give your office keys to the Mayor, cause you suck.
The took the guns, now they are coming back for the people themselves.
I'm so pissed right now.

It made no sense. The cops were risking their lives to arrest the looters. New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin had announced a pending mandatory evacuation. Yet the authorities didn't evacuate the looters -- they released them back into the city. Abrams later saw the same looters where they had been apprehended, even though they had been told not to return.
NOTHING THEY DO MAKES SENSE TO A LOT OF PEOPLE.
New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin had announced a pending mandatory evacuation.
IN OTHER WORDS,ONLY INNOCENT TAXPAYERS THAT ARE PROTECTING THIER HOMES HAVE TO LEAVE
I heard early on, they were actually turning away ham radio operators that were bringing in portable repeaters and other commo equipment.
Anyone else here this?
I heard they are already shooting the dogs/cats too......
Ohhh.. This is sweet...!
Let'm stay. They know by now the process of cleanup will take months and if they are willing to live in those conditions, I say let'm. Make them sign a release that they understand the circumstances may cause death and no help will be available.
>>> "They were all insisting that I had to leave my home," said Shelia Dalferes, who said she had 15 minutes to pack before she and her husband were evacuated.>>>
Don't you mean 10 days?
Utah is what? 0.2% black? You gotta think that the blacks there are worrying about all them whites eyeing their every move. They prolly get the willies about how they stick out in the snow. They don't know how to ski or skate, and there's no decent barbeque there. I'd feel out of place there, too.
Just think of the exquisite suburb full of large, beautiful homes that southern Louisiana is about to become.
[...little sarcasm and irony there.]
Give us the former employees of New Orleans. Make their bosses stay there.
Hey Harry...tough luck.
I heard a woman on the radio say that she and her neighbors were high and dry and didn't understand why they were being forced to leave their homes.
The lucky 800 who went to Lubbock are spending their $2000 already...their bonus for not wanting to clump up in Houston, I suppose.
