Police from surrounding jurisdictions shut down several access points to one of the only ways out of New Orleans last week, effectively trapping victims of Hurricane Katrina in the flooded and devastated city.

Those who would raise the Katrina issue immediately to a Federal one are the socialist/communists, who do appear to believe that the State is the answer, the god of all.
The rest of us lay up stores for the winter, and buy beans when the snows or rains look to hit, and keep our powder dry. We don't want government around at all.
To the extent we hear the horrors of a supposedly slow federal response (from a federal entity 24 hours is supposed to be slow??), we are hearing the socialists.
YGBKM!! And MSM is SILENT??!!
Gee, can you say "ACCOMPLICES"?
Now, more than ever, I've got that "every man for himself" kinda feeling, and that is NOT a good thing cuz I'm not prone that way and if I'VE got that feeling, there've gotta be COUNTLESS others in the same mindframe.
"Shadow" Nation, anyone??
1. If all of them really were animals, wouldn't things be that much worse?
2. I know that these two situations would be different, but at heart, how does this differ from "after that meteorite hit and the tsunami devastated everything around the Gulf, I heard of such horrible things in New Orleans that I'm giving all my money to Cuba"?
The Fox Allstars had a good discussion on the topic of whther the Fed's should have seized authority, which apparently they tried to do, however the LA Governor refused to close the deal!
That of course was on the Brit Hume Special Report.
This is just crazy, and we won't hear this on MSM.
Good catch!
Levee break first ocurred just as the hurricane leaving. I relied on the Los Angeles Times, which had it wrong.
So the bridges would have probably been still closed for the storm as news of the levee break spread.
Tuesday morning, the water was still rising. By afternoon, first efforts were made to slow the leak.

The story may be urban legend. Here is a story listing survivors.

Links to his activities are endless.
The other writer is editor of the Gurney Gazette, an innocent appearing publication that goes head to head with other competing labor groups.
The second link is to the Sun Herald in Biloxi and MS Gulf Coast... dig throught their archives for some interesting reading and info. I don't believe people as a whole understand the nature of this event and the destruction that it has caused. In the final analysis MS/AL maybe hit harder than NO, but whose to know at this point. The damage/destruction is different.
Thanks for those links. I'll look at them early tomorrow morning based on their length.
I have been looking at the Gulfport Miss Sat images, and it looks like damage away from the storm surge of the beach is not total like they keep showing on Foxnews, certainly severe but some rather large commercial structures are standing and the highways seem to be ok and have much traffic on them,,,
