This morning on Fox's "Fox and Friends," former Indiana Democrat congressman and 9/11 commissioner Tim Roemer called on President Bush to name former President Jimmy Carter to the head of efforts to rebuild New Orleans.
Roemer told the stunned hosts: "The second thing we should do is put somebody like former President Jimmy Carter in charge of rebuilding New Orleans."
Developing...
Makes sense to me.
Congressman Billybob
Incidentally, there's a report on FOXnews.com that the Democrats used a "Fire Mike Brown" website to raise money for the Democrats' Senatorial campaign fund. This from the people who rant about Bush "politicizing" disasters.
Crapola.
Bad enough he gave up the Panama Canal, and eventually let it fall into Red Chinese hands. Where would we be with Red Chinese control of New Orleans?
Maybe Jimmie's expertise should applied to restoring our confidence in containing the development of Iran's nuclear program, much as he was instrumental in bringing North Korea's nuclear program down to a safe level....
Watch out Jimmah....those Cajun Rabbits don't like MORONS like you!
Oh, you beat me to the killer rabbit comment =)!!
(Next up: Kofi Anan in charge of food relief.)

"The second thing we should do is put somebody like former President Jimmy Carter in charge of rebuilding New Orleans."
I was just wondering why we hadn't heard from Ol' Jimmy yet...
*snort* hahahahahahahaha
*gasps for breath*

Couldnt have said it better my self. :)
Let the Peanut President stick to what his does best:
Endear himself to America's enemies
My thougths exactly! Unless there are wild hares swimming around 'Nawlins neighborhoods, Jimmah couldn't paddle his way out of a Habitat for Humanity housing project.
Nooooooooo.
We'd be in danger of him giving it away to Mexico or Panama or someplace. Put him in charge of one of the cruise ships with evacuees instead.
Apologies for tailgating your photo. I checked 1st but typed too slow.
Can't a President ever retire in this country? Why must we keep dragging out the old Presidents to legitimize everything? It just looks a little odd. We must remember the gas crisis we all faced when Carter was in office-we want him back in NO?
Shhhhhhh! Let sleeping serpent-heads lie.
Oh, yeah. That's gonna happen. Sure.
What an idiot.
Great photos. In the bottom one I don't recognize the guy between Lenin and Castro. Is it Zhukov?
Heard that too this a.m.---about fell out of my chair: Brian just about had a stroke with that statement. Luv that
Brian.
This is a bad idea-- 911 commission was a farce, had a member asking questions and should have been answering questions herself; she initiated the 'wall' not allowing communication between agencies. (gorelick).
Just a thought here, Dems' asking for an independent commission -- isn't there any Democrats in congress of either house capable of listening, evaluating and giving recommendations on subject matter? Guess not -- want some one else to do the work. If I were a democrat congressperson, I would be upset that my leaders indicate I couldn't do the job. Probably my constituents would throw me out of office due to not handling the job.
Is there any democrat that can stand up against the radical left of this party? Better hurry, no one in their right mind will vote for a democrat soon!
Pres. Bush did a great job...some cases he is damned if does or doesn't do things.
How come Sen Landrieu isn't under arrest for threatening the President with physical harm and possibly instigating similar action by someone?
Just a few thoughts...
Hmmm, let's see. Carter graduationed from Annapolis with a degree in Nuclear Engineering, not bad. Grew peanuts and became rich as a farmer, admirable. Was probably the worst President in the 20th century, not so good, and was Commander in Chief in charge of "Choppers in the Sand", not good at all. I guess he's qualified to rebuild N.O. That's if you can do it with a hammer and nails and a few piles of wood.
The first thing we should do is put anybody but Jimmy Carter in charge of rebuilding New Orleans.
