September 8, 2005 Several Border Patrol agents were involved in a shooting near the Hidalgo port of entry Saturday. The Mexican consulate in McAllen was notified when the incident occurred, said vice consul Sandra Mendoza, but they have yet to receive a written report.
It is very important for the Mexican government to investigate all incidents along the border, Mendoza said. In this case the agent shot a Mexican national and we are asking that the Border Patrol provide us with a report about this case.
Border Patrol spokesman Roy Cervantes confirmed a shooting took place but would not comment on Mexican media re-ports that two agents were hospitalized for injuries received when they confronted three Mexican nationals attempting to cross the Rio Grande. The immigrants reportedly threw rocks at the agents, who responded with gunfire and orders for the three to stop.

Commonly, the use of deadly force is only justified if the life of the officer or a fellow officer or another citizen is eminently threat-ened.
Goliath was killed by a rock, so I know rocks can be life threatening.
It would appear to me that anyone throwing rocks at an armed Border Patrol agent is begging to become a Darwin Award winner.
If they are that willing to assault armed agents, consider how willing they must be to harm unarmed American citizens. Way past time to close the borders.
Nooooo. They fired on ILLEGAL immigrants.
Does Mexico send us a report every time our border agents are shot at or attacked by Mexican nationals?
Tell Mexico to stuff it.
Does Mexico send us a report every time our border agents are shot at or attacked by Mexican nationals?
Yes. One of the 4000 daily crossers is given the report. All we have to do is find which of the 4000 has the report.
Lock and Load - Criminals who attack our Border Guards WILL be shot on site! It is called SELF-DEFENSE!
No more mr P.C. crybaby liberal reactions.
"Report? Report? We don gotta give you no steenkin' report."
So I take it none of the "undocumented immigrants" were "rendered unviable" (killed).
See? I can play the euphemism game too.
LOL
Lessons of the day...
1. Don't cross the border illegaly
2. Don't bring rocks to a gun-fight

It's time the Border Patrol spends more time at the range. Burial expenses are far less than medical expenses. Especially since I suspect the American taxpayer will have to pay for either expense.
Lessons of the day...
3. Shoot to kill.
It's very simple Senor Mendoza: The illegal invaders you sent into the United States, were so stupid that they took rocks to a gun fight.
It's all how you look at it. The Council for Foreign Relations calls them 'trusted travelers'.
Rule One: Don't throw 'stuff' at men with guns.
Rule Two: Don't stand next to folks who are violating Rule One.
P.S., When your invaders started throwing rocks, our Agents just naturally assumed they were being confronted by Palestinean terrorists.
How about the 41 US citizens that are missing and presumed kidnapped in New Laredo.
Let's see, there were, supposedly, 45,000 illegal aliens in and around New Orleans. (Who were loudly complaining to Mexico that their 'needs' weren't being met by FEMA, Bush, and the National Guard.) Will they get free apartments, a $2K debit card, and the promise of longterm HUD help along with the legal poor and indigent? Aer we relocating them all around the country with promises of jobs, housing, and a fair share of $100 billion?
So what kind of reports do the Mexicans give to the families that were raped, robbed, murdered etc. by these illegal entrants?
Aer we relocating them all around the country with promises of jobs, housing, and a fair share of $100 billion?
It really would not surprise me. Dismay me, yes. Surprise, no.
