Flood Victims or Perpetrators? The Ugly Reality
Excerpt from a letter by Chris Edwards who lives on the West Bank of New Orleans posted at ChronWatch.com
"The looting here has been bad. You won't see it on television, since we're not even close to being newsworthy, considering all the deprivation, death, and suffering being reported. Our parish took in the first 600 evacuees, and put them up in one of our brand new high schools located next to I-10. In l0 hours they had trashed the school, torn out urinals, ripped the bleachers out of the gym, and trashed the classrooms and computers. We moved them, plus 600 more to a place across the Interstate at an expo center. By Tuesday night, there were three car jackings and three armed robberies. So we had to call in our deputies, police, and National Guard troops to guard the evacuees. Most of our law enforcement had been down in New Orleans working in the rescue mission. The same stories apply to Baton Rouge, only multiply the numbers 10 fold. My godson/nephew is the chief of the K-9 Department in Shreveport, 250 miles north of Baton Rouge. He had been in New Orleans working on the rescue until now, except that he has been called back to Shreveport tonight to protect against the looting there. Mandy works for a doctor in a clinic next to our small hospital in Gonzales. It's situated across the Interstate from the evacuee center. At 11 AM yesterday (Thursday), the police locked down the hospital and the clinic to protect them from looters. The clinic closed down at 2 PM and the medical staff got escorts out of the vicinity."

Actually it's the liberals fault for making this kind of enivronment, and encouraging the welfare state.
Prayers for ALL!
interesting.....hard earned tax dollars at work huh....prayers for all those having to deal with them
600 people caused this destruction, imagine what destruction 250,000 could cause.
They be depraved 'cuz they be deprived - jes' aks
Massa Jesse (an' stay out da Bushes!).
Just let them touch these things. Right!
It is sad but true but they may have totally destroyed the Super Dome too. This is so disgusting, and the President is the bad guy here? I am sick to my stomach.
To people who have been given everything in their lives (welfare, housing, medical), they are just doing what they have been taught to do...
And they're spreading the fun all across the nation as we speak.
Communities that have provided a place for the evacuees may soon regret it. My small town has 600 evacuees. I was out talking today to our local law enforcement that has had this dumped on them, and the problems are about to start.
Already local drug dealers are getting into the compound where the evacuees are staying. Some of the evacuees - who are quite clearly in gangs (something we haven't had a problem with) - are trying to figure out how to get into town tomorrow night for a hoodlum party some locals are planning.
My heart goes out to many of these people, and our community has responded tremendously with charity. But the fact is, a significant population of these evacuees are dangerous criminals who are quite likely about to up our local crime rates.
If I didn't already carry a gun, I'd start now.
Wow, great tag line. Freak.
We have family members in west Tennesse who report that several hundred evacuees are being sheltered on Federal Gov't property near them. Apparently it's a pretty tough bunch, and the local sheriff has gone door to door in this small community to warn folks. They've been advised to keep their properties well lighted and to have a loaded shotgun near the door in case of problems. Needless to say, people aren't too happy about the situation.
Troll.
And, other than sitting at your computer pretending that you care when you really don't, you are doing what?
Sorry. Welcome to Free Republic.
Troll.
Rush mentioned what 25,000 people did to the superdome. I hope his staff reads your post and does some follow-up on it. And I hope he talks about it tomorrow!
