Negative. It was a Chicago newspaper that forced the couple to reveal what was contained in the Ryan's divorce papers. Both Jack and Jeri did not want the info to become public because they were afraid it would harm their child. The Newspaper forced the issue and the divorce papers became public against both of their wishes. IMO the newspaper (I believe it was the Chicago Sun-Times) did the work for the democratic party.
I thought it was pretty lame the the Illinois Republican party dropped their support of Jack. I mean all he wanted was to have sex with his wife in front of others. I can't blame him entirely after view Jeri!
