The Fox News Channel's Major Garrett made another appearance on the program this evening, following up on his blockbuster story yesterday. Among other things, Garrett got confirmation --on camera-- of the Louisian State department of Homeland Security's blocking of the delivery of relief supplies to the Superdome and the Convention Center. In addition, Garrett received confirmation from senior Salvation Army officials in Washington, D.C. that the Salvation Army's efforts at supplying the evacuees were also repeatedly blocked. Radioblogger will have the transcript up later, but the key takeaway was when I asked Garrett if characterizing Louisian's preparation for the storm as "abysmal" was accurate and he confirmed that indeed it was. Read the whole thing.
I also asked Garrett why no other network is on this story. He can't offer an answer for that, event hough he points out that this isn't a hard story to get, and Fox News needn't be credited. All CNN has to do (or MSNBC or CBS) is call the Red Cross and get a camera over there.
BTTT
Case in point: McGreevy's boyfriend, Golan Cipel. Most assuredly not a Bush apointee.
1. The National Guard, because Blanco didn't initially mobilize enough of them.
2. The American Red Cross (turned back by Louisiana officials)
3. The Salvation Army (turned back by Louisiana officials)
4.Hundreds of private citizens with boats ready to get people out of their homes (turned back by Louisiana Fish and Wildllife officials)
5. Mobile hospitals and doctors from George (turned back by Louisiana officials)
6. Ham operators offering to help in communications (turned down by Louisiana officials)
Now, I don't know about you, but to me this looks like a deliberate plan, NOT incompetence.
The MSM is killing any vestiges of Credibility they have left. The fact that the NY Times invented a news story with Gerlado Rivera and blatantly lied about it is amazing. Gerlado is going to sue for Malice. They have had an opportunity to correct the story and their Editors refuse to do so. Maureen I am a Nag Dowd who called Cindy Sheehan "Mother Sheehan" (Barf Alert) would not post her other gems of comments. Lynne Stewart convicted Terrorist sympathizer is a buddy of Sheehan's. This is more evidence of the corruption and Advocacy Journalism practice by the empty suits in the MSM.
This is why I no longer watch the garbage and propaganda they put out. They are too stupid to realize we can figure it out. Dumbells are still living in the 70s. And the Academia idiots are part of the propaganda machine as well.
My plea to those who want balance. Cut off the money to the Academia. Stop advertising with media who is trying to wreck the country. And stop funding the Asshats in Hollyweird.
Why did Jane Fonda stop her Bus campaign? Answer somebody told her if you ever want to make a movie again that you want the public to pay to see better stop the hate America Road Trip or you are finished as a Box Office draw. It is really stupid to crap all over your customers.
Kayne West if that is his name could care less what Whites think. They are not his primary customers anyway. He wins Brownie points with the Far Left Artistic crowd who only put the bong down long enough to do a Press conference or sound bite. If they shut off the Dank supply to Hollyweird the place would close up shop.
If your rant resembled truth, then there's absolutely no way Bush could have won re-election against an organized media, vicious assaults from well-funded leftist groups, and even a movie produced and released in theaters nationwide specifically to bring him down.
Bush's minions are out there just like Clinton's were. The difference is the media were fawning groupies proclaiming the Clinton's Administration's garbage as Gospel.
Yes, and hopefully soon we will see a siren on Drudge with the headline "Fox News exposes criminal negligence while other media ignores facts", or something to that affect. It is absolutely criminal that the media is ignoring this. As much as I know the MSM is negligent this is beyond comprehension.
I wouldnt hold my breath waiting. It doesnt fit their "Blame it on Bush "agenda.

For example: I just heard Bob Shieffer, do his Friday promo for Face the Nation on a local radio station. He is having Mary Landrieu on and Susan Collins. He just mentioned Collins as an afterthought. Shieffer has totally made up his mind about what happened and how the story is going to be told and how there is going to be a Blue Ribbon Commission instead of a Congressional Commission, etc. I wish I had recorded his words. They could be used in a seminar on "Judgment before the Evidence."
"plenty of blame to go around"
"Mary Landrieu has become the spokesman..."
Seems this explosive story is not exploding; or maybe I just keep missing the fireworks. . .
Just listened to Tim Roemer (Congressman from. . ..?) on 'Fox' using the collective 'we' for not getting the water and supplies in as needed to these people. . .what IS the deal here?
I agree Peach. Many of the underlying reasons why there were failures point right to LA. and yet so many are willing to say the whole response was a wholesale failure. If I hear one more time how unprepared we are for a terrorist attack I may spit. While there are cracks in the system to be sure, I get sick of the wholesale dissing of the Bush Administration who in my estimation is the only one who did things right. I think it is pretty apparent that other states would be be better prepared to react in their first responder roles than LA.
All CNN has to do (or MSNBC or CBS) is call the Red Cross and get a camera over there.
Perhaps this story is re th 'Red Cross' and not the Salvation Army. . .?
Just looked at the number of responses here (!). . .think I will start reading the 'rest of the story'. . .
They would never allow full congressional hearings to expose the blood on their own hands.

They are already demanding a Blue Ribbon Commission, instead of one controlled by the R majority in Congress.
Of course the Blue Ribbon Commission will be controlled by the Dem machine. That's the natural order of things, according to them.
I seem to remember rumblings of blaming Bush before Tuesday at noon, when the flooding was really being felt...
How long after that, when the reporters were out on the freeway crying about no water, food?
!!!!!!!
The live threads on FreeRepublic should be considered national treasures during events such as these.
bttt
Anybody who understands how propaganda works on the human subconscious should be concerned at this point. Even somebody as evil as Hitler was able to get to the heights of world power using the maxim that if you repeat a lie often enough people will believe it, and it took almost a entire generation and 50 million deaths to reveal the truth. Don't underestimate the Democratic press.
DID ANYONE SEE KATIE OR MATT TALK OR MENTION THIS AT ALL??? I DIDN'T.....
unbelievable no wonder.
Great scenario, but for some unknown reason Dubya has NEVER defended himself from even the most ludicrous charges since he's been President.
@@@@@
In the present circumstance, every person activated to deal with Katrina knows exactly when they were called up. The Navy and Coast Guard were on the way before the hurricane crossed Florida. National Guard from many states were tasked, or at least given a "get ready to go" Then the troops under the command of Gen Honore know when they started on their way to LA. This adds up to many thousands of troops and first responders, who all have family and friends that they will be speaking to.
There is too much known in the way of timeline for the Dems to stonewall and pretend that it's Bush's fault.
W does the right thing and lets people see that it was the right thing as situations become clear.
Bingo!
