'Die Hard' Scene Too Real (Plot Changed after New Orleans Flood)
Scotland Daily Record ^

Posted on 09/08/2005 9:57:58 AM PDT by gopwinsin04

The new Die Hard film has needed some quick script changes due to the spooky similiarity between the movie plot and the events unfolding in New Orleans.

'Die Hard 4', featuring Bruce Willis, was said to have featured a stunning action sequence on the Mississippi River.

The scene ended with a freight train crashing through a bridge on to an oil tanker, causing a monster explosion which sends monster waves into New Orleans.

An insider said: 'Everone cringed when they read that part of the script. It's a good script and no doubt the scene on the Mississippi would have been spectactular, but there is no way it can now be used.'

Reminds me of the spiderman movie: right before 9/11 they were showing trailers in which Spidey stops a helicopter with a web spun between the twin towers. They pulled the trailer and edited out the scene.

Maybe FEMA and other relief bureaus need to get out to the movies more often.

Did they edit out the scene where the bumbling mayor of New Orleans did nothing to evacuate the people out of the city and then blamed the President?

"...causing a monster explosion which sends monster waves into New Orleans." Obviously due to the entrenched racism of the scriptwriters and Hollywood movie industry. Didn't they care what would happen to all those fictional, poor, black residents? Al? Jesse? Where are you?

I believe in a pre-2000 report FEMA said that the three worst case scenarios were:

1. Terror attack on NYC like the early 90's WTC basement explosion 2. NOLA/Lake Ponch Flooding 3. San Francsico/LA Earthquake 'The Big One'

never, never, NEVER waste money going to see a sequel.

The Godfather 2? Rocky 3? Terminator 2? The Empire Strikes Back? All were better than the original.

I saw in the tv guide last night that a channel was running the movie in which New Orleans gets swallowed by a sink hole.

Add Aliens 2 to that list.

OH, BOY! OH, BOY! Good. We'll finally get out front again.
California plays second fiddle (as Rome burns) to no one.

It will be so wonderful to be back in the limelight.
