A pair of gay activists are raising the stakes in the fight over same-sex marriage, vowing to post on the Internet the name and address of anyone who signs a petition to ban gay marriage and civil unions in Massachusetts.
"I have the fight in me now, and if people I know, or that I support, or that I do business with are on that list, I might not support them or their philanthropies or their businesses,'' said Tom Lang, who launched knowthyneighbor.org with his spouse, Alex Westerhoff.
Lang, 42, said he and Westerhoff, 36, are only providing via the Internet public information that any citizen could obtain at the secretary of state's office. But anti-gay marriage activists are outraged.
"We think that it is intimidation by no other name,'' said Kristian Mineau, whose name was listed as one of the first 30 signers of the petition. Mineau said he will explore the rights of people who have signed or plan to sign the petition.
"Certainly it raises my concerns. This is the first I have heard of it,'' said Mineau, president of the Massachusetts Family Institute.

Based on the shabby wedding, these two are obviously at a severe economic disadvantage because of Massachusetts' vile attitude toward gay marriage. /sarcasm
I don't know why this is such a big threat. Everybody who really knows me, knows how I stand on the issue. It won't be news to them.
Once again, to cite Mrs. Cheney, these are not decent people.
Yes, but this is Massachusetts, so a hefty proportion of the 98% are liberal enablers of homosexual activity.
actually think about it.
The list can be used to identify your friends who have YET TO SIGN the petition.
It becomes a tool to ensure the maximum people sign.
(also "you didn't sign the petition? I didn't know you were a homosexual? does your wife know?)
65,000 signatures from across the entire state?
I think this is exactly the type of "jamming" homoexual activists want. They want the default PC position to be pro-homo.
Normal People can EASILY avoid those lawyers and law firms that supported the homosexuals. Why not support the VAST MAJORITY of people who protect marriage. Let Mass. businesses that support homos to die on the vine.
THIS IS CALLED JAMMING!
This is what the communists did with voice of america. They can't win the argument, they KNOW people will vote for protecting marriage in the privacy of the voting booth.
They are BULLYING people into silence.
They are BULYING people to PREVENT a voting on the issue.
Remember folks, a signing a petition is just to let the people VOTE, it does not mean actually voting for the measure. People sign petitions to simply have an UP or DOWN vote.
but it does identify the peopel you do and do not want to be near you or your children.
This "list" can be used exactly OPPOSITE to the wish of these homosexuals.
Know thy neighbor, can and SHOULD be used to identify those who have yet to sign and to ostricize those who FAIL TO SIGN.
Badge of honor.
I can't wait to sign this.
That's exactly what they are hoping will happen. That some of the more wacko "activists" will take the information and begin to harrass and intimidate the signers.
But, and here is the key, it gives them deniability. i.e. "it's public informations, we aren't responsible for what a deranged individual might do with it". /wink, wink
Just where are the thought police now? If heteros were doing this, they would be accused of hate crimes by way of *intent*.
didn't an abortion group get successfully sued and found responsible for murders.
Will these homos PAY? Are they will to loose ALL that they own?
This will backfire against them.
Bring it, Tony!
Or Tom. Whatever!
Oh yes!
I can't wait to start gathering signatures...
As a Masshole, please let me know when and where I can sign the petition.
I should send them my name and address ahead of time because they're going to have a lot of data entry to do...
A liberal sodomite picking a fight with a conservative heterosexual is sort of like a miniature poodle picking a fight with a Rottweiler.
