Air America has had the wind pulled from it's sails in Charleston, SC. Air America took over the AM 730 dial when Clear Channel moved its conservative line-up over to FM. Now they have changed the format on 730 AM to "The Music of You Life" featuring artists like Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, and Nat King Cole.
I tuned in to Air America a couple of times to get my own impression. Both times I thought, "It can't always be this boring, can it?" I'm surprised it's lasted this long.
How low can you go if you siphon funds from poor and sick inner city kids to pay your salary and pay for airtime to spew hate.
How many stations do they have left?
"That's a shame!" /Seinfeld
I knew it wouldn't last here!
Glad to see 'em go.
Sell NPR to Err America for $1 and teach them all a lesson in Capitalism.
It's STILL Frank's world, we just get to live in it.
I would be satisfied with raped in prison however.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Man... who does their marketing research?!!!
I don't even know the frequency of my local Air America station. Imagine that.
From my days in the Boston area, Kiss-108 was a disco station.
I did have a preset for it. Only to get car radio to the top of the "dial" and start seeking downwards when all the
other presets failed to keep my attention.
I did have a boss that bought a condo above or below that gay black dj that I believe owned a piece of the station.
Sinatra rules. Franken sucks.
their website http://www.airamericaradio.com/node still says 70 stations. Advertising welcoming San Antonio on 103.1 fm In Phoenix, the shows that originate locally try to say they are not "Air America" but when you go to the website http://www.newstalk1010.net/ what do you see on the background?????
Has anyone listened to Randi Rhodes's show? Wow. The hatred of Bush borders on an illness. She just yells, over and over in the most disturbing voice, "HE'S THE WORST PRESIDENT EVERRRRRR!!!!!"
Maybe we can get this nice format back on 1260 in Washington, where it once was, instread of teh Rip Off the Boys and Girls Club Network.
Schadenfreude.
The first artist under the new format should be a "FAT LADY"!!!!!!!!
Air America...yet again has failed to gain as many listeners as Howard Dean gains shrinks!
