A landmark bill to legalize gay marriage passed the Assembly by a single vote Tuesday and now goes to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has not said whether he will sign it.
The measure passed on a 41-to-35 votes, with no support from Republicans. The author of the bill, Assemblyman Mark Leno, D-San Francisco, worked desperately throughout the day to find the votes needed for passage.
The Senate approved AB849 last week, marking the first time a legislative body in the country to approve a bill legalizing same-sex marriage. But supporters had a harder time mustering support in the Assembly, where the bill had already failed once this year, falling four votes short.

Family courts will use the FACT homosexuals have a shorter lifespan in determining custody.
I know because I have used expert witnesses to testify for clients in custody cases where the father "discovered" homosexual preferences in the course of a divorce. Essentially the the best interests of the child are best served by granting full custody to the mother in that situaion. It is also useful in precluding overnight visitation. (in one case mandatory supervised visitation)
You may not like it but the homosexual lifestyle DOES create an expectation of shorter life. IT is why homosexuals fight tooth and nail for keeping aids exposure for insurance consideration in applications. Why they absolutly HATE the fact blood and sperm donations do not allow homosexual donors.

Government has no business regulating any marriage, gay or straight. It's hypocritical to support government sanctioned straight marriage and oppose gay marriage. Oppose both! Keep the government out of the bedroom!

Wrong. Get off your obsession with other people's sex lives. Marriage is about a life long commitment that last's far beyond the child bearing years. Our vows included "til death do us part" not "til after the kids are grown and gone do us part". I'm sure yours included something similar.

Right, but unless they're paying people outright to vote a certain way, I don't see how money will help them when it comes to this issue. This is an extremely powerful issue that people won't forget unless they really don't care about it. It's a vote getter for sure... Republican challengers should be licking their chops right now.
