Consider: When a teenager develops schizophrenia, we do not just say "Oh, yeah, that is hereditary. No sense in treating it." We know how distructive it is and we do our best to treat it, even if the treatment is not perfect yet.
Same with the Gays. Doesn't mean that we don't love them. Just the opposite. We care that they are doing something destructive to themselves and others -- they are virtually cutting their lifespan in half.

Correct. However, the people also voted for individuals to represent them. Obviously this issue carries enough weight (I have no idea why) for those individuals to pass this bill. Saying it's the "right way" is correct as far as the process of passing laws goes. If this bill is unacceptable, then the people will have no choice but to elect new representatives.

The DSM has become a political tool.
The removal of homosexuality was a POLITICAL decision not a scientific decision. There are psychologists that believe homosexuality should be placed in the DSM. It is also notworthy that the DSM is no longer the end all be all.
There is more than enough hired gun scientists who will work well outside of the joke of the DSM

It is about how we raise children. Homosexuals are irrelevant to society. They have no reason to seek marriage other than to legitimize their sexual conduct as equal to normal sexual conduct.
The fact is that these legislators are bypassing the will of the people.
The right thing would be for the legislators to respect the people and stop playing checkbook politics.
If anything this shows why we need the Federal Marriage Amendment to end this effort to define marriage as a adult sex behavior and not about producing and raising children.

If the family unit could be wiped out then children could be raised in the perfect light of scientific leftist wisdom and humankind could be perfected.
