I started browsing through the articles, and came across a name we all (now) know.....

I was just checking registered sex offenders in Alaska and we have 3434 listed and with a population of less than 600,000 that is more than 4%.
4% of 600,000 is 24,000. 1% of 600,000 is 6,000, in other words, Alaska's rate is a little over 1/2 of 1%. I think you got closer to 640,000 residents btw.

Very interesting. I've posted many times (and will again now!) my conversation with the now retired head DA for the rural county I live in. He said that only caning like in Singapore will do any good for much of the repeat offenders. But the public won't go for it.
I'm part of the public, and I say "Go For It!". It should be public. Pain and shame.
Look how merciful they are in Singapore - no women or men over 50 get caned. There should be some milder (but not too much milder) alternative for them. And look - they provide a doctor and a pillow, too. And people to be executed don't get the caning. It's all very organized. I bet their repeat offenders are few in number.
People scoff at this. But they don't understand that "KINDNESS TO CRIMINALS IS CRUELTY TO THE INNOCENT".
What I don't understand is why they don't get that simple fact. The only reason I can come up with is that they think no one is really personally responsible for his/her own choices. Which then begs the question - why don't they think people are responsible for their own choices?

You know, I never saw those follow up pieces, though I always wondered what happened to the people whose lives were permanantely destroyed by Perez, CPS, and the judges and prosecuters who facilitated something like 25,000 counts of sex with children against plain folk.

There's your flaw in your analysis. The 4% includes liberals, criminals, etc., with whom you likely have little contact.
