Bob Denver, whose portrayal of goofy first mate Gilligan on the 1960s television show "Gilligan's Island," made him an iconic figure to generations of TV viewers, has died, his agent confirmed Tuesday. He was 70.
Denver, who underwent quadruple heart bypass surgery earlier this year, died at Wake Forest University Baptist Hospital in North Carolina, according to agent Mike Eisenstadt. Denver's death was first reported by "Entertainment Tonight."

Anybody remember Maynard G. Krebbs?
And Dobie Gillis?
No.
I only remember Tuesday Weld's character and had a thing for her for almost 40 years (till she got real fat).
Played a ton of really interesting roles.

My favorite one was where they were about to get off the island and Gilligan messed it up.That eliminates about 3.5% of all episodes.
I feel sorry for him in his family now, even though I never liked the show much.

I think as a memorial to Bob Denver, all future Cindy Sheahan threads for the next month should be turned into a discussion of Gilligan's Island. No statement on his politics, just a suggestion as something less ridiculous than she is.

RIP Gilligan...
Also, your pic reminded me of the fact that there are only two kinds of men in the world...Those that prefer Mary Ann and those who'd prefer Ginger. (I'm a Mary Ann myself)

I loved Maynard...a wonderful character.

And Maynerd Krebbs is survived by Zelda Gilroy, now the whacked-out California state legislator and radical lesbian who has been screwing up my state for several years.

My favorite one was where they were about to get off the island and Gilligan messed it up. Then they had coconut cream pie. My favorite episode is where that person came to the island, promised to bring them back to civilization...
SPOILER SPACE ALERT!!!!
but left them stranded in the end.
END SPOILER SPACE

There are 2 kinds of guys in the world: Mary Ann guys or Ginger guys Same for WKRP - are you a Jennifer/Loni guy or a Bailey guy? I was the latter type.

He should have been killed on the Island.
Every time he destroyed any hope of getting off the island, the skipper, Mary Ann, Ginger, the Howells and the professor should have killed him.
At least I would have.
Good riddance you little jinx.
Besides,something was definately not right.
Mary Ann and I would have been inseperable...but nooooo...Gilligan slept with ..of all people....
a big fat skipper.
