5 Percent of D.C. Homes Have Loaded or Unlocked Guns Updated: Tuesday, Sep. 6, 2005 - 11:48 AM
WASHINGTON (AP) - The District may have a high number of gun-related crimes, but according to a new report it has the lowest number of homes with loaded and unlocked guns. A study published in the journal Pediatrics finds that only 5 percent of D.C. homes keep such guns around. Wyoming had the highest number. Thirty-three percent of that state's adults said they kept firearms in or around their homes unlocked and loaded.
D.C.'s low numbers are attributed to its long-standing bans on handguns and semiautomatic weapons.
The report finds overall 1.7 million U.S. children live in homes that have loaded and unlocked guns.

I'm sure the MDs informed the authorities about any DC patient stupid enough to admit they owned a gun.

A locked gun is a safe gun, loaded or not. An unloaded gun is just a bad truncheon.

and a huge violent crime rate.

You are assuming that the people who were asked whether they had a gun or not told the truth.

5 Percent of D.C. Homes Have Loaded or Unlocked Guns Is there a similar study for Texas? I can see two loaded ones without even having to scoot my computer chair in the opposite direction.
To: RobertP
What is missing here is the explaination for the spiraling violent crime rate in Wyoming. All of those guns MUST be running rampant.
