Happy anniversary!! 25 years is great. I had made it to ten but had to restart with a better model, so I am not even at one, yet!

Do you really want to go democrat, you will end up like NO keep that in mind. It was democrats that killed NO. It's only been one week. People are still in shock. They are still in crisis mode. It's going to take a couple weeks to start processing what has happened.

Oh heck yes there will be problems.... there will be shorts all over the place...and some of those jokers in Jefferson County have generators wired into their houses....those will blow up. They were issuing warnings for people to only run appliances from the generator, not jury rig it into your house electrical box.

Usually you tell people to turn off the circuit breakers when they leave. And then turn them on one at a time.

A suspected looter stands handcuffed after being arrested by police in New Orleans, LA, eight days after Hurricane Katrina devastated the region.

Believe me, these people are not in shock. They do see dollars. It's all about money. You say it's only been a week? Let me tell you, it's way over a week. These people got here BEFORE the hurricane. We still have them and are getting more. The same two people are answering the telephone at the Red Cross office, as before the hurricane. The same volunteers are servicing all these people, the same shelters are there, nothing has changed, EXCEPT, we aren't temporary anymore, we are long term.

We have no resources. We are hurricane damaged and victims ourselves.

Our evacuees are complaining that we aren't doing enough. Perhaps we aren't. BUT, when YOU change over 100 baby diapers in a 4 hour period, come talk to me.

Do these babies not have moms or dads? Why can't they change their own babies?? In our shelter, they all pitch in to clean and do laundry and cook and whatever else needs doing. No way am I going to wait hand and foot on able bodied adults. And you shouldn't be expected to either. I've sat and talked, found answers to questions, gone to the store for special needed items and help sort clothes, stock shelves and cook and serve a meal....with the evacuees working right along with me. No wonder you're bummed.

Why can't some of these refugees that are complaining all the time pitch in and change some of those baby diapers...

I just cannot believe that the shelters aren't putting these people to work...they have nothing else to do!

BTW, Scarborough has the MORON, JIM MORAN on...he got up on the HOUSE floor today and ranted about what a failure that Bush is...and he just got done excusing the mayor and gov. of NO, and LA...saying that the FED govt has jurisdiction in a hurricane..

Might I suggest that our representation in Washington...STINKS LIKE NEW ORLEANS!!!!

The fact is that there a regional emergency plan which includes areas outside the emergency zone, (neighboring cities and states) to take in evacuees. The problem is tha the mayor of New Orleans never acted upon the plan and called on the partner cities and states.

Oh, one woman we had, whose child had dysentery, as it turned out, wasn't concerned. Said her child had always been "loose." Others said their child needed a doctor, why were we not not taking them to our own personal doctors? "I need a lawyer." I thought heck yeah, and I do too.

I will NEVER be a volunteer for anything again.

Might I suggest that President Bush isn't looking too good to me right now. I didn't appreciate his tirade on National TV today about how these refugees aren't refugees but are Americans and how we ALL ought to open our hearts and homes to them. It's a big adopt a family program. I simply can't wait until I see the tent city set up in Midland, Tx.

La's finest. I have yet to see the FIRST Mississippi person ask for anything. I wish to God we could be allowed to take care of our own.

We have the SAME number of policemen, the SAME number of postal workers, the SAME number of gasoline stations, the SAME number of restaurants, the SAME number of grocery stores, and the SAME number of volunteers, and DOUBLE the population, and TRIPLE the crime rate.

anyone watching Nightline? they will never evacuate this city totally, forget it. get the people who want to leave out. pump the city out - and those who stay and survive, will. those who don't, won't.

here is a woman in a bikini sweeping a sidewalk on bourbon street.

pump it out, get the electricity back on, alot of parts of this city can come back faster then people think.

Absolutely! If they didn't have a Mayor who is an idiot and a Governor who is worse, they'd be okay, and look who is talking.

I cannot wait until I see Laura Bush change a few diapers. I can't wait until I see Barbara Bush adopt a family into her Riveroaks home.
