The precinct station was, in fact, running short on a building for starters.

What is so terribly difficult for you people to understand about a catastrophe?

"Fired"?

There's a catastrophe in place, with tens of thousand facing death, and you are more concerned about the quality of the wait service.

Reminds me a lot of that old National Lampoon series on the different kinds of Hell. Some were traditional Hells, but the one I remember best was the Episcopalean Hell where the waiters were rude!

Baltimore's criminal class is simply more sophisticated than the one in New Orleans ~ not less effective.

You are lucky you escaped with your skin.

Proof that France IS Hell!

Actually, my favorite depiction of Hell was a Night Gallery where John Astin played a hippie who gets stuck with a middle-class family showing their Vacation movies...

btw: I meant that the N.O. Police needs significant overhauling -- starting with the 2 brain surgeons they show on the video.

Well,

When you have a corrupt foul mouth Mayor, governor, city counsel, and the state legislature is full of Affirmative action babies, what do you expect? Do you expect a Police run by a Democrat EEO Chief of Police to run professional?

Half the Police quits, some help with the looting, sure- It's Bush's fault. Of course our minority quota was filled, and that’s a good thing, or is it?

The residency requirements for police officers, only serve to lower the quality of the officers. This is true in my hometown as well. NO has a residency requirement. Cities who have these requirements should seek to change them or ultimately end up with a police force like the one in New Orleans.

Interesting thing, that video ~ think about it ~ all the stores are closed, your house is flooded, your stationhouse is closed down, there's no fresh water anywhere, and how does a lady working 24/7 get fresh panties.

I think most of the posters here who have been so terribly critical of these particular cops are men ~ and not really sensitive men at that ~ and they are probably not married, nor do they have daughters.

How in the world do you make this a gender thing?

Look at that cop with the basked -- she was walking the aisles looking for STUFF. I didn't see water or food in that cart.

This has nothing to do with gender and everything to do with corruption. Police are supposed to enforce the law, not break it.

What debate? Only debate I could see was whether or not "the cop looters were stealing shoes for the needy". Okay, there's your debate. I didn't disrupt that.

http://silflayhraka.com/archives/006669.html If You Can't Beat 'Em... A New Orleans police officer is seen carrying DVDs at the Wal-Mart on Tchoupitoulas Tuesday. Many police officers said they felt helpless in enforcing the looters, which were found all over the city.

So?

You probably haven't watched that video yet. Reporter was in the store harrassing shoppers. The reporter also harrassed the cops.

The debate was over whether or not they were taking cheap shoes for shoeless refugees.

DVDs weren't in this story line.

Your reference is as meaningful to this thread as would be a picture of Teddy's car hung out to dry.

I went to the link you provided. This photo was taken by UNC staff? (http://www.unc.edu/~sstaff/images/ploot.jpg). The link at the site you post says they got it from "Photo via the Times-Picayune".. Do you think I'd find it under "User Submitted Photos"?

I looked at Hurricane Photos but couldn't find any labeled as anything remotely resembling this photo.

Reporter was in the store harrassing shoppers.

Excuse me? Don't you mean...the reporter was in the store questioning LOOTERS? Shoppers PAY for merchandise. Thieves steal merchandise. Now perhaps you'd like to tell us all why you're bending over backwards to defend thieves? Is there something we should know?
