Another Tack: Cindy and Orna

Cindy Sheehan, American anti-war activist whose soldier-son fell in Iraq, could fit in quite snugly among Israel's Four Mothers. They too included members who shamelessly exploited their painful losses to bolster superficial slogans with emotional appeal.

Cindy is no different from the equally personable Orna Shmueli, a sincere but no less misguided do-gooder. She and her colleagues - abetted and amplified by sympathetic media, left-wing propagandists, pseudo-pacifist draft-dodgers and political objectors - hawked facile panaceas and delectably simplistic solutions. Inevitably they wrought real damage.

They helped spur Israel's middle-of-the-night flight from Lebanon, rendering half the country - from Hadera northward - hostage to the 12,000 Hizbullah rockets now trained on it. The retreat whetted Arab appetites for more of the same, nullified any remote chance for compromise, spawned the 2000 intifada and convinced Arabs to unmistakably regard the Gaza pullout as next in the process of Israel's capitulation.

Isn't it grand how Cindy just disappears from the face of the earth? Blown away by 165mph winds. There is a small measure of justice in the world after all.

Further, starting her whining up again in face of this tragedy would be down right unpatriotic.

I think we should forget this witch exists..She is a no body old hippie that did not even raise her own children..And she has the nerve to go around the country downing our troops and president..she needs to shut up and people need to just ignore her rants..I for one have canceled my paper because all they had day after day was articles after article about this woman..If others in this country would do the same and call their papers then after a while they will have to go out of business..Remember what we did with CNN and the other MSM we stopped watching and they are low man on the polls..

I agree with you about Cindy, what puzzles me is how could Israeli women, who face terror every day, do the same? although I wasn't blessed with being a Sabra, I can't imagine betraying Israel.

The democrats can dig up all sorts of people for their cause..and i really think this woman is a pawn that the dems dug up..Every since Sheehan made that stupid remark"My son joined the Army to protect America, not Israel."the dems have been trying to smooth it over so they found themselves a believer in Cindy Sheehan which was Jewish... I doubt she never even knew this old hags back ground.. As for me I have said this many times.I am a Christian and do believe the Israeli's are the only true friend we have along with some Brit's..I would fight for them and I know they would do the same for me..Sorry to keep rambling.
