I don't consider most blacks to be liberal. I consider them to be "ethnic Democrats." You don't see too many blacks marching in anti-war protests, going to Burning Man, or wearing a-sless chaps in the annual Pride Parade.

HOUSTON (Reuters) - In the last week, Joseph Brant lost his apartment, walked by scores of dead in the streets, traversed pools of toxic water and endured an arduous journey to escape the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in his hometown New Orleans.

On Sunday, he was praising the Lord, saying the ordeal was a test that ended up dispelling his lifelong distrust of white people and setting his life on a new course. He said he hitched a ride on Friday in a van driven by a group of white folks.

"Before this whole thing I had a complex about white people; this thing changed me forever," said Brant, 36, a truck driver who, like many of the refugees receiving public assistance in Houston, Texas, is black.

Brant was one of many refugees across Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi who gave thought to religion on Sunday, almost a week after the floods changed their lives, perhaps forever.

There is a lot of money and political power to be had when you harness the ability to control a segment of the population such as the blacks or Spanish/Mexicans, etc.

The race baiting by liberals and Democrats will not end as long as it serves its purpose. Its hard for those who are ignorant to the fact that people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton do not have their best interests at heart, they only wish to line their pockets with gold through exploitation of long ago slavery and government handouts taken from the working families of this country who make it all happen.

A lot but not all blacks have been fed the nonsense that whites are the enemy and that they owe that blacks reparations for something they had nothing to do with. Feeding on the words of race baiter's who say look over there, there is the reason for all your problems and it simply isn't true. We all have our problems and struggle with raising children, paying bills, etc. and expecting some else to solve your problems only passes the problem along to the whole of society.

Liberals think socialism is good when in fact it prevents this country from being ten times better than what it is. I truly believe that our jails are filled with those who live the Democratic dream which in the end leaves them dependent on the government and destroys their ambition to succeed in life. When the hate is fully instilled into a population with no hope from the party that leads them they turn to alternatives such as drugs and crime and not the thought that maybe the other party has better answers for them and their children.

If they can truly be reached and made to understand the value of self reliance we would all be better off. Anyone with the determination to succeed can make it happen.
