Yeah. That is a great idea. Tell it to the Liberals first. They have a headstart on this dating back to Monday.
(snip) "New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin followed at 5 p.m., issuing a voluntary evacuation.
Nagin said late Saturday that he's having his legal staff look into whether he can order a mandatory evacuation of the city, a step he's been hesitant to do because of potential liability on the part of the city for closing hotels and other businesses.
"Come the first break of light in the morning, you may have the first mandatory evacuation of New Orleans," Nagin told WWL-TV." (snip)

He rallied his troops (NOPD) to stand tough against the vultures and protect the innocent citizenry.
Thanks for the great pictures. Nagin is toast, he better just shut his piehole.
The Dems have made the kickoff and are trying to reun up the score before we can receive.
There is going to be some real butt kicking when the recovery starts.
That plan specifically states which shelters are to be used, but to not make the list public information because the shelter might not open....ummmm? I read that paragraph 5 times, I could not believe what I was reading. No wonder nobody knew where to go or what to do...stunned, just stunned.
That is why we choose great leaders like Lincoln or Lee, to make the difficult decisions for us.
Yes go with the oysters!
To think of good food is a respite from the tragedy that is New Orleans.
Yep the MSM is going to play up these lies and smash Bush at every turn.Is there NO ONE out there with balls who can tell the truth over the air waves ? FR TV is needed/ Is not the MSM in any way held accountable for anything they say ? the blatent anti Bush bashing is beyond belief .They dont even attempt to cover up lies.
with all due respect the democrats count on that as a damage control tool.
We have the time and the ability to preserve the fact that this mayor's INCOMPETENCE KILLED THOUSANDS.
We need the blame NOW.
Later the democrats will be saying "lets move on"...
With democrats you have to "stake em" through the political heart so they stay dead.
It only mentioned personal cars.
Somebody posted it here the other day.
Brave Sir Robin ran away.
("No!")
Bravely ran away away.
("I didn't!")
When danger reared it's ugly head,
He bravely turned his tail and fled.
("I never!")
Yes, brave Sir Robin turned about
And gallantly he chickened out.
("You're lying!")
****Bravely**** taking to his feet,
He beat a very brave retreat.
Bravest of the braaaave, Sir Robin!
You know, that idea is so crazy it just might work!
See #21 for correct response.
Nagin should be looking for sanctuary in another country, France maybe. If his constituents don't get him, the Feds will.
But, the official New Orleans' Evacuation Plans posted on the N-O webpage made NO mention of buses. It only mentioned personal cars.
At this link, you'll find the following passage (about three-quarters of the way down the page):
D. Regional Transit Authority* Supply transportation as needed in accordance with the current Standard Operating Procedures.
* Place special vehicles on alert to be utilized if needed.
* Position supervisors and dispatch evacuation buses.
* If warranted by scope of evacuation, implement additional service.
Note the words 'special vehicles' and 'buses' and 'additional service'. This was all to be done at the direction of the mayor.

By Saturday evening, Mayor C. Ray Nagin was visiting New Orleans television stations and urging people to leave - just hours before Katrina strengthened early Sunday to Category 4 with winds of 145 mph.
Katrina was expected to hit the Gulf Coast early Monday and a hurricane warning was in effect from Morgan City to the Alabama-Florida border.
``I've been here 33 years, and we've always been concerned about New Orleans,'' said National Hurricane Center director Max Mayfield. ``I had to let the mayor know that this storm has the potential not only to cause large property damage, but large loss of life if people don't make the right decision.'' Last night, Nagin was under considerable pressure by state officials and weather experts to evacuate the city, but he worried about the legality of ordering people out when New Orleans had few safe hurricane shelters for them to evacuate to.
Also, National Hurricane Center Director Max Mayfield called Nagin at home last night and told him: get people out of New Orleans. Later, in an interview with television station WDSL, Mayfield said he wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing he didn't do all he could to warn people that this storm was the one everyone in New Orleans had feared for a generation. re: When danger reared its ugly head
He bravely turned his tail and fled.
I remember a sign in my high school boys' locker room that read "When the going gets tough, the tough get going". Somehow I never realized the get going part meant out the door and down the road.
You have to understand something,
I'm sure all of us have given and a lot of us went to the Fire Stations in NY/NJ for training and are waiting to go down to do what they will have us do.
We will take care of our own, that's a given, it's what America does.
This is not just MSM spin for the nation, it shows the world we are weak and have no control, hence emboldening terrorists. Countries look to us to be a guiding light, in case you forgot. This is being watched very carefully around the world. It wasn't the president's fault, we know this... the world doesn't know how our country works.
We must, with all that's on W's plate... step up in patriotism, not to bash, but to protect our country...
Not just it's reputation, but against further attacks.
If for homeland security purposes or otherwise, we must get to the bottom of this and get it out.
Rant off.
Good posts. Nagin has behaved in a criminally negligent way, to my mind. By failing to perform absolutely crucial mayoral duties, many people have died who might otherwise have lived.
