Does anyone know how to determine when this PR actually appeared on the website??? Was it just recently, or did she really do this on Friday, Aug. 26???? Is this dishonest CYA, or simply more evidence that she knew of the threat and did nothing? Either way, she is cooked....
Is there any evidence at all that the state of emergency was actually declared on the 26th? Did any national news agencies pick it up?

A Freeper posted some quotes from her in several papers where she stated that Bush called her and told her what to do.
That's an instate declaration, Not a request for Federal assistance. That request for federal assistance is what triggers the deployment of gaurd troops from other states as well as national forces (regular army and navy and airforce).
She called on the interstate compact on Wednesday for gaurd troops from AR and TX, but as of Saturday had still not made a formal declaration of need to the Federal Government.
