NEW ORLEANS (AP) Thousands more bedraggled refugees were bused and airlifted to salvation Saturday, leaving the heart of New Orleans to the dead and dying, the elderly and frail stranded too many days without food, water or medical care.

I'm broadcast live in front of a pre-recorded studio audience.
The elderly and frail should have been the first to go and yet I still see them lined up waiting while busses are filled with able bodied young men. WTF
NOLA has been a great source to get current updates on what has/is happening in NO.
Read the section on finding relatives, friends, etc. It can be a jerker.
More damned if you do, damned if you don't. Nothing being done will satisify the media or Democrats. I have to admit, there are times I just want to scream "chill out and calm down!" Now is not the time to overreact.

There's a difference?
Sorry... my bad....
Just out of curiosity, how many people die in and around NO in a week's time? How many are murdered?
Because those elderly people raised thugs and condoned the thug-culture and would still rather condone it than promote individual responsibility.
They named a nursing home last night on the Fox special where the National Guard found 80 dead. Apparently, their caretakers managed to get out. There will be many terrible tales about this.
OMG I missed that. It appears that NO is reaping what it has sown. A total disregard for it's fellow citizens.
Sorry to be flippant. You have not been here long enough to deserve it. You're right, for the most part. There isn't much difference.
Better to endure squalor, thirst and starvation for a few days and live, than to die in the attic. I'll bet the vast majority of those stuck in the Dome and elsewhere believe that. The MSM will never report it.
While some of the reporters they use and quote exhibit the usual liberal bias, it is less so than many of their fellow travelers.
First I heard of that one. Damn, Justdamn.
No honor among thieves
I'll have to go back through the threads to find it, but a freeper posted about a woman and her husband who were going to help a nurse manage a nursing home full of people. The people had a family member in the home. Allegedly, all the personnel left except the one nurse. This was pre-landfall too.
One of the best stories I have read is how those British youth survived in the Superdome. The young men actually made a ring around the young women to keep them safe. Contrast that to the stories you hear of the food air-drops where it is reported that the able bodied men fought for first dibs.
Did anyone see the able bodied adults getting the elderly and disabled strangers to safety? I did not, what I have seen is a complete break down of all civilized norms, just when they were needed the most.
They ran out of hair gel and Astroglide by the second day and it was hell on Earth.
