It is believed missing blues legend Fats Domino survived Hurricane Katrina, after his daughter Karen Domino recognised him in a photograph of rescued survivors.
The image showed Domino, 77, dressed in jeans and a blue striped shirt being brought to safety by boat - but his whereabouts remain unknown.
Karen Domino says: "We're very relieved. I didn't have any information. I was just praying."
The star's long-time agent Al Embry raised the alarm after he failed to contact the musician following a phone call on Sunday.
Aerial images showing Domino's New Orleans, Louisiana, family home completely submerged with water led family and fans to fear the worst.
The star and his wife Rosemary had refused to heed storm warnings and insisted he was "going to try to ride out" the storm at home.

Old news. Fats is with family.
He was living at some college football player's house for a couple days but has been moved to an undisclosed location. That's what I read yesterday. Hope this helps.
Last I read he was in an apartment in Baton Rouge. Wherever he is, his family is now in contact (although at first the only indication they had that he survived was seeing a photo of him getting into a rescue boat).
Alex Chilton and some other musicians are still unaccounted for.
Wrongo, he was pulled off the roof of his house Thursday night.
He's with Dick Cheney!
I said Fats who? to my dad ... he hauls out some old records he had and played some of his songs ... cool!

Ever since the 'Cane, I've been wondering: ... did they get Satchmo's cornet out? ... or is it floating somewhere down the river ...
... or was it looted?
"... many historians believe jazz emerged in New Orleans not far from the French Quarter in the city's Treme district ..." "...
"I've heard the whole area of Treme's underwater. It's such a loss. It's one of the most culturally significant neighborhoods, the cradle of jazz," said Michael Murphy, a New Orleans filmmaker whose documentary, "Make It Funky," chronicles the evolution and influence of black music from its roots in New Orleans.
"Treme is home to Louis Armstrong Park, dedicated to the city's most famous native son. While the park and the neighborhood had languished for some time, it had recently picked up, featuring some popular clubs and jazz parades."
... the cornet probably went floating down Canal St.
Any amateur kid-wonder detectives out there? Here's a case: The location of SatchMo's horn.
If being obese is so bad, why is Fats Domino still alive, but Slim Whitman dead?
Maybe the same reason that Chubby Checker is still around but Slim Pickens is dead.
Good point!
