PARÍS.- French President, Jacques Chirac, was hospitalized last night due to a "slight problem in his vision" as a consequence of a "slight stroke" according to a spokesman of the Military Hospital Val du Grâce, where Chirac will remain hospitalized for a week..
The France Presicency Department has confirmed the hospitalization and informed the press that all of Chirac's engagemnts for the next week have been postponed.
The French press agency, France Presse and the television network France 2, are reporting that Chirac suffered a "very tiny stroke"
The hospital statement also adds that the visual problem "should go away in the next few days".
Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin, has confirmed the news and reportedly talked with Chirac about the affairs of the nation "especially about the proposals to help and assist" the USA after the calamity brought by Hurricane Katrina.
Yesterday morning, while hosting representatives from Andorra in the Palace of Elysee, Chirac developed "visual problems" and was sent later in the day to the hospital.
The French President is 72 years old and will turn 73 on November 29th. He was Paris' mayor (1977) and Prime Minister during the Presidency of Mitterand (1986)-and became President in 1994 until today.
Someone handed him another unpaid bill from his friend and confidant, Saddam....that probably did it...
Sad news. I hope the terrorist appeasing criminal makes a full recovery.
What a shame.
LOL!!!!!!!!!! I see that we are all extremily worried about his "slight stroke"
Anthing to get back on the front page.
I thought he's always been myoptic. (Here's hoping for a speedy recovery for his announcement of his retirement).
A very tiny stroke for a very tiny brain.
You took the words out of my mind. I was going to say "a very tiny stroke" to a very tiny man.
I'm sure he's tiny in other places too..... ; )
because he has a a "very tiny" brain.
C'est la vie!!
C'est la vie!!
why doesn't Chirac just throw up the white flag
