Halliburton hired for storm cleanup
The Houston Chronicle ^ | Sept. 1, 2005 | The Houston Chronicle

Posted on 09/02/2005 6:17:31 PM PDT by Conservative Firster

The Navy has hired Houston-based Halliburton Co. to restore electric power, repair roofs and remove debris at three naval facilities in Mississippi damaged by Hurricane Katrina.

Halliburton subsidiary KBR will also perform damage assessments at other naval installations in New Orleans as soon as it is safe to do so.

KBR was assigned the work under a "construction capabilities" contract awarded in 2004 after a competitive bidding process. The company is not involved in the Army Corps of Engineers' effort to repair New Orleans' levees.

Hey, it was Halliburton technology that steered that hurricane into this region to bump off the minorities.

In collusion with "BIG OIL", of course. Those rigs and platforms were strategically placed just to steer the Hurricane in...

snik, gak, grmpf, Bwahahahahahahaha!

(Sorry I just couldn't say that with a straight face....)

Lemme know when someone/anyone/some 'machine' is invented that can:

Grossly affect the moisture content of a 'largish' airmass MOVE that 'largish' airmass into a desisred, predetermined position

Significantly shift the jet stream into a desired, predetermined position

CONTROL the speed and direction of aforementioned jet stream

Cause the 'at will' movement of cold, polar-originating airmasses into the 45 degree to 32 degree latitudes Do all of the aforementioned with coodination and timing such that the convergence of the jet, warm, moist gulf air and a cold 'front' apear over a desired, predetermined area

Shhhhhhh. If they told you, they'd have to kill you.......

When I worked for my dad on govt funded jobs with Minority Business Enterprise MBE extortion-set asides..

we just paid them off to shuffle paperwork thru them to satisfy the MBE inspector

it was my job to placate them

the MBEs (black and latino) did nothing but get paid enough to cooperate

on these level pipeline jobs (oil and gas transmission) we were doing there simply were no firms in the oil pipeline services industry minority owned capable of even the sub jobs...I mean you might find a pipe fitter here and there with a truck

...for 100 mile pipeline projects(?)

usually some local black or Tex-Mex politician would have a shell company set up to just run money thru and they could soothe the MBE officer who was often some urban planning degreed activist asswipe

this was 1980 in Texas

Those people suffer from a serious cognitive/reality disconnect. Cat 4 or 5 hurricane winds vs the choppers.......There'd be bits of airframe in Illinois....

I think it's double standards all around. Where does it end, when we all go down the toilet?? Why should we stoop to that level, if we do, we're no better than they are.

Good. Let the DUmmies pee and moan. Poetic retribution.

Tee hee. Let's make some popcorn and watch the fireworks :-)

Full Disclosure: Prayers for those hurt by Katrina and those who help. Prayers, too, for the thugs and looters, and incompetent pettifogging govt. officials who get in the way of help.

And don't forget, they should perform an exhaustive environmental impact study before proceeding.

Not only that, a certain percentage of the work should be set aside for woman and minority owned companies. /sarc
