I agree with you I think Shep emotions on the whole have been real when Geraldo to me seem manufactured.
Yes Geraldo does come off contrived. Shep also lost a home in Mississippi. He mentioned that on Wed. I believe. I haven't had the impression he's badmouthing Bush, I just think he has been there too long like you said. He needs a break.
