That's an excellent point.
Listening to Jesse Jackson and Elijah Cummings, you woudl think that blacks are 100% of New Orleans and relief workers are 100% white.
Also, there are over 25,000 Hispanics and Asians and 135,000 whites in New Orleans. Listen closely to the Congressional Black Caucus and they will NEVER mention the whites or Asians or Latins who suffered also.
Another question is why did so many whites (over 135,000) evacuate and so many blacks did not evacuate.
This demo breakdown helps inject FACTS into these discussions. MikeinIraq would rather post without facts at his disposal, I guess.

A lot of worthless information except for the income statistics. Rioting is a function of class more than it is a finction of ethnicity. People mired in the culture of poverty are more apt to riot than others. Riots exist in all countries and cultures when the social order breaks down. If you look at rioting in countries that are homogenpous you will find that it is the poor that riot or the lowest class. These are usually the people with less education and economic resources at their disposal. Middle class whites in America don't understand such factors because they have no clue. If you were living in a favella in rio de janeiro or a villa Miseria in Buenos Aires, you would riot too, if given the chance. Disasters and the breakdown of authority are too often an opportunity for the lowest class to vent their frustration at the world. Read a bit of history and you will see that race an rioting have nothing to do with each other, but class and education (the lack of it) is a common denominator.

I guess so blacks could loot and rob the homes of their oppressors, the whites. In fact, that is exactly what happened, and continues to happen.
Looters make off with merchandise from several downtown businesses in New Orleans, Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2005, after Hurricane Katrina hit the area.
