Just let my people go!
FNC has done alot of positive stories today.
These refugees (and yes, they fit the dictionary definition of refugees - but if they prefer, we can call them "displaced persons") from New Orleans are going to be the Okies of this generation, the wanderers from the Dustbowl - every one of our states, many of our towns will eventually be touched by them as they are gradually dispersed and re-absorbed into society - at first they will place an extra demand on our social/medical services, but after a while most of them will be productive citizens. But there will be some "growing pains" and we all need to prepare for that with some measure of patience and compassion.
Jesse Jackson found a camera on Larry King. The Red Cross woman is there. He said it's unacceptable that the Red Cross isn't there and the woman shot back. The Governor and local law enforcement told us not to come it was too dangerous. We are there to help people we are not search and rescue. JJ shut up.
Because in trying to avoid responsibility, she's probably going to end up, along with a lot of other LA politicians, in jail on charges of (among other things) theft under color of authority, murder, corruption... the laundry list of charges just keeps piling up.
Please, they are there, all we see are the photos and news reports, cleaned up for viewing.
I have never watched people dying beside me, but would probably get upset about it too.
Sorry, Soul Seeker, I was just explaining why I would even bother . . . I wasn't harping.
Again, very sorry . . .
He's standing on the bridge talking about the people who are 'still there' but he can't say if it is the same group of people that were there yesterday or a new group of people? he can't even answer Sean's questions as to why they can't leave?
Listening to the mission on the scanner, several armed helos could not find any building above water in the area that had any people... they checked for an hour...
might be a giant urban myth
It's obvious what's happening - the Guard is setting up a cordon around the city to isolate the violence and chaos. That's why these people aren't being allowed to simply march out of the city. Presumably they are trying to secure the city on a sector-by-sector basis and are bringing relief into a particular sector only after it has been deemed secure. Absent the lawlessness and looting this kind of cordon & secure approach wouldn't have been needed and relief efforts would have been a lot faster.
Attacking one's opponents every way possible, especially if the charges are false, is the Leftist definition of the American (or is that Amerikan) spirit.
Agreed. And give them immediate counseling.
"Not at all. It's what I would have done WITH caveat: Those entering the dome were not allowed in with any kinds of weapons (Zero Tolerance); ergo, I'd have found some stick with long nails, and made my way out of NO. Broken glass, some toxic soup in a jug to toss into faces. Oh yeah... I'd a started walking as soon as Katrina had passed over."
I don't think you would have waited to leave. I would have left on friday,,, after following these threads I was convinced NO was gonna get hit.
I wouldn't be surprised if the riots start in Los Angeles...there have been a bunch of disturbances this week, due to the "community leaders" saying the city will burn.
It's New Orleans - "safe for life" is subjective.
Hey, maybe could he part Lake Ponchitrain? now that would be something!
Geraldo's third or fourth or whatever wife just had a baby either a few weeks or months ago -
