"Mr. Marriott, or someone high up at Marriott got buses ready on Tuesday and had to get special permission from the governor to allow the buses in. They had to make more than one phone call to make that happen, but that is what they did."

Well, there was some leadership in Louisianna after all, but it was at the corporate, not state or local governmental level...

There is absolutely NO LEADERSHIP.

Not in the Democrat party!

Rudy has it. W has it. Ray can’t spell it.

The Democrat Mayor and the Democrat Governor failed badly.

(Marriott Buses) "Well, there was some leadership in Louisianna after all, but it was at the corporate, not state or local governmental level..."

And once again we see the difference between handwringing careerist politicians and executives who get things DONE.

Because problem solving is what you do in corporate America in order to survive, whereas if you are a government employee NOT solving a problem is how you and your job survive.

Just heard the chairman of the black caucus on Lou Dobbs. Lou asked who was to blame. Guy said now was not the time to assess blame as there was too much still to do. Then went on to blame the federal government from waiting too long to step in when the local government was unable to cope. IOW, it's Bush's fault for not realizing the local dems was too incompetent to cope.

Mr. J.W. Marriott. Many years ago when Marriott owned Bob's Big Boy restaurants, I worked there. Mr. J.S. Marriott came in with his entourage. He's not the head of a first rate corporation for nothing.

GOD BLESS HIM

I heard also that the Ritz and Hyatt did the same thing either on Tues or Wed. I read that one of the hotels rented buses that FEMA hijacked for an unknown purpose. I always wondered why, if the news can get in where is FEMA and help. At least water!!
