I don't know about you (I have an idea) but I'm sick and tired of the MSM burying good news!

I see Americans helping Americans. I hear stories and see photos that inspire me! I thank God I live in America.

Brett Coomer / Chronicle A paramedic carries a pair of girls away from an Army helicopter after they were airlifted from their flooded home in New Orleans on Tuesday.

More Chronicle PHOTOS

I just listened to the local D.C. radio news and they played a woman screaming about no showers in the Astrodome. No this, no that, no nothing (I hear different). Then they quoted Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich making snide remarks about the progress of relief efforts.

Melissa Phillip / Chronicle Volunteer Heather Carson holds her son Joel Carson, 10 months, while she sorts through donated items. She and other volunteers at the Westlake Fire Department organized donated items for refugees from Hurricane Katrina. Three families of around 70 people stayed at the Westlake Volunteer Fire Department on Saums Road near Katy. Residents of the community converged on the fire station to bring supplies and offer support.

Americans are doing for each other but what is reported?

Negative, negative, negative.

Depress. Depress. Depress.

Bash Bush. Bash Bush. Bash Bush! Bash America.

Never, ever uplift and encourage or praise! That's the MSM I know and despise!

There are so many GOOD things going on by agencies and citizens. But NO, they won't report those things.

Keep up the good work FReepers. Report what Americans have been doing and will continue to do to help the survivors of Katrina.

THIS IS PRIME BEEF FOR THE LEFT TO BASH BUSH AND CONSERVATIVES. NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING BUSH AND CONSERVATIVES, THE MILITARY, ANYONE OTHER THAN A SOCIALIST DEMOCRAT DOES, WILL BE GOOD ENOUGH FOR THESE PEOPLE.

THE FACT IS, 95% HAD SQUAT BEFORE THE HURRICANE. THEIR LOSSES PROBABLY TOTALLED A FEW HUNDRED OR THOUSAND DOLLARS AT BEST. FEW UNEDUCATED, UNSKILLED, NOT WORKING DEAD BEATS MAKE ENOUGH MONEY TO OWN A HOME, DRIVE A CAR (HOW MANY SAID THEY DID NOT HAVE A CAR AND COULD NOT LEAVE??? HUNDREDS!). SO, THEIR LOSS IS ACTUALLY NOT THAT MUCH. BUT THEY WILL LITTERALY GET THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF FREE GOODS, SERVICES, MONEY, ETC. EACH WILL COME OUT OF THIS "RICHER" THAN BEFORE THE HURRICANE. BUT, THEY WILL CONTINUE TO BITCH THEY DID NOT HAVE A SHOWER IN THE DOME. BIG DEAL, THEY PROBABLY HAD ONLY HAD ONE OR TWO BATHS IN THE PAST WEEK ANYWAY BY THE LOOKS OF THEM. THAT IS NOT EXACTLY THEIR SUNDAY GO TO MEETING CLOTHERS YOU SEE THEM IN. FLOPPY BIG T-SHIRTS WITH SAINTS ON THE FRONT OF THEM, AND FLOPPY BIG SHORTS AND SNEAKERS OR FLIP FLOPS. IT IS NOT LIKE THEY LOST A 4 BED ROOM, $500,000 HOME, FOUR CARS, AND 15 NEW SUITS! Alright, rant over. Sarcasm still on.

The media has basically decided to further poison our reputation around the world... And inflame race relations at home.

Don't know what will happen after a major terror attack.

I'm pretty sick of the ones sitting on their behinds and yelling for stuff to come to them. It just makes me sick.

Yes. I had to get that off my chest. I am sick of this crap. Day after day, hour after hour, blame someone, anyone, but yourself. Hell, if I think my life is in danger and I am going to possibly die from this storm, then damn, start jogging north if nothing else. But, then again, that requires more than a 5th grade education to think that far ahead. No, these dumb asses were waiting for big brother to do it for them. The democrats, the government school system trained them to be like this, and thus they responded in kind.

Thank you for posting this- you would think that no one was helping each other out if you listen to the media.

I can't imagine what God is going to do with the reporters when they die. If he sends them to Hell, they will be absoulutely DELIGHTED at the "doom & gloom" reporting opportunities!

Many of these people have been stunted by the LIBERAL welfare state.

They've been told the city is the place, that public transport is the way, that white people are their enemy, that they don't need fathers and that government is the answer.

They have been schooled in being depressed, dependent and Democrat.

BUT It's George W. Bush and conservatives that caused global warming and the hurricane that ruined the world and their city.

Yes..these people have been through hell...BUT for them to complain after Houston has opened up their doors???? I have no patience for that! But what the MSM doesn't show is that human nature, being what it is, there are ALWAYS those who will complain, complain , complain.

I'm a school teacher of a large school..We had to evacuate 3000 students by bus to a safe location because of a bomb threat. Even with communication and no problems like in NO, it was a massive job. I don't think people KNOW how difficult it is to organize these massive numbers of people. The MSM are sounding like many of the teenagers on my bus...they want it NOW and are too immature to realize that in a disaster of this magnitude, four days is about right in terms of getting stuff down there!!!

I also like the passionate on-site reporting by Mississippi native Shep Smith...

Shep's been bordering on hysteria a few times; e.g., "Every one of them is black!" "No one is telling them where to go!"

Gee, the vast majority of the city was black before the storm, and everyone was told to get out of town before the storm and they're still being told to get out of town.

I can do without Shep.
