The Congressional Black Caucus press conference is exploding in indignation at the President's lack of response. First, Elijiah Cummings blasted him. Now it is Jesse Jackson Jr's turn.
I understand your anger. I was thinking of how to do a fundraiser but Shelia's "I'm ashamed of America", disgusted me so much I think I will leave it at what I have done already.

The MILITARY person who is risking his/her life to help/rescue these people eat those same MRS's. She seems to have pushed that out of her mind(what little she had to start with).
Ungrateful is the most predominant word I can think of for every one of these fools who didn't get out of town when they were told to.
Ohh yees! And HUMAN FREEDOM is sprouting in Africa, Asia, South America and the Middle East without US programs in place. As Lowie would say, "what a beautiful world...." /sarc, well ya know

I don't have a racist bone in my body, but listening to that Mayor this morning made me say the "N" word, followed by "STFU". Although, I do have to admit, some of the blame belongs on the people themselves. I was checking out the NO website this morning and preparations for this kind of event were laid out in detail, even down to forms that should have been submitted for transportation assistance for the disabled so they would have their names and locations on file. A little initiative on the part of the people prior to this event could have gone a long way in terms of preventing this type of chaos.

At the same time, no one is questioning the actions of state and local government. For instance, this morning I saw two series on Fox which no one bothered to connect. The first was a long line of school buses coming from out of the city and some from out of state to transport people to safe areas. Earlier, a helicopter shot was shown of hundreds of school buses out of commission in deep flood waters in New Orleans. Yet no questions were asked as to why these buses were not used to transport people out of the city prior to the storm when we were told there was no transportation for the people to get out of the city. Also, there was a window when the city had not yet flooded after the storm when these buses could have been moved to the exit routes that survived, yet there they were by the hundreds, useless in a new lake. I am willing to bet that several people thought in a timely manner of those buses but the idea was nixed by someone in authority.
Second point, the mayor said he was sending 1,500 police after the looters and shooters yet no evidence has been shown that they did anything more than keep people and rescuers out of the city.
I may well be wrong on many points but I thing my general concern is well founded. In a crisis situation like this, the MSM has great importance and if they are carrying the agenda of the left, we are in trouble.
Bush should just come staight out and call a spade a spade.
And .. they aren't blaming the DEMOCRAT GOVERNOR - just the REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT.
The usual double standard. Democrats are responsible for nothing and republicans are responsible for everything.
The cruise ships might not be a bad idea. "Ladies and Gentlemen, our very first port of call will be Port au Prince. There is plenty of free food, free drinks, and shoplifting ashore. All ashore please!"
Then as soon as the last passenger is well on his way toward the town, the ship blows its horn, casts off, and steams out to sea with the crew waving goodbye and laughing.
Let the world see...in case anybody left is still swayed by faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaashionable guilt. Coming to a neighborhood near you. And if events had a sense of justice - it would come exclusively to the hypocritically insulated neighborhoods that created this.
Were they to IGNORE helicopters being shot at as they tried to help victims; IGNORE fires being set, IGNORE woman being raped in restrooms, IGNORE people being murdered and IGNORE homes of the dead being ransacked by animals?
Instead of asking people to be patient assuring that help was on the way, and asking the Mayor (who should be fired) to stop blaming others when the State seemingly did little to protect these people, we see another case of finger pointing and race baiting. Disgraceful!
Have the seen the Blanco Buses ?
Same holds true for the "stars" who plan to put on a benefit and then take credit for ALL the donations of others. Forget the benefit, open your own pocketbooks and start writing checks or do they believe giving of their 'time' is enough to house, feed and cloth people. Farce!
That says it ALL!
Was this before, during or after Cummings cited scripture "when you were hungry, you feed me"?(snicker)
