According to that picuture, the space is being used.
But since you've raised the issue, if the 30,000 or so Lakewood members are being called upon to share their vast square footage, then surely the 600,000 Catholics, 400,000 Baptists and 200,000 Methodists can called upon to donate some of the meager square footage in their minichurches.

I believe the Baptist Church of Houston furnished the food, cooked the meal and served it to the refugees tonight at the Astrodome.

Actually, I heard that Lakewood is indeed offering shelter.
Churches all over Texas are doing the same. Ours, between Dallas & Fort Worth, is on the Red Cross list.
