CNN's Anderson Cooper Losing It -- LIVE!!!
CNN -- live ^ | September 2, 2005 | self - vanity

Posted on 09/01/2005 4:23:09 PM PDT by Poundstone

Anybody watching Anderson Cooper now? He's losing it publicly, blasting Sen. Landrieu, saying she doesn't understand the pain of the New Orleans survivors. He seems traumatized by having witnessed a couple of dead bodies in the streets. Cooper seems like he's descending into madness.

Why don't some more people like him take charge of the situation? SURELY they are not ALL going to sit and kick their feet until Whitey brings them breakfast in bed! There are plenty of logical, thoughtful, strong men of every age -- and probably women too -- in among those 20,000 refugees. Why is NOBODY taking command? If I were there I'd have for darned sure stopped people peeing and pooing in the hallways, for one thing. Is that what they do at home? Why not find some trash cans or buckets to be used to keep everything in one place? Why isn't anyone taking those children into one area and playing games with them or telling them stories, or leading them in singing? Why is nobody taking the old people into an area and leading them in prayer and hymns?

Why oh why is there no attempt to behave like human children of God?

You can't do much if you don't have much to work with, but by God people in concentration camps maintained their humanity! What on earth is wrong with this bunch who have only been inconvenienced for THREE BLOODY DAYS?

He is a lightweight and not nearly as handsome or intelligent as he thinks he is.

Most of us don't watch CNN here on FR.

I very seldom do, but it turns out their Katrina coverage has been superior much of the time....if you only pay attention to the camera work in the field and listen to the reporters on scene.

FEMA director already had a run in with media earlier today. He l gave them all a lecture. He was criticizing their reporting. He said that it was irresponsible to be reporting rumor as fact. He was angry at media reporting no food or water being available at the Superdome. It is and always was readily available. He also said that when an "unruly" fellow is spotted every camera pounces on it. Directly next to the unruly fellow id 100's of well behave citizens following instructions and waiting patiently. The media ignores all the good. He called them all on their negative reporting and ignoring the amazing accomplishments that have occurred.

The media then started asking professional questions. After the news conference cut to Shep who started going off on people who haven't eaten for days at the Superdome.

No, for the past few days the politicans
blanco, landrieu & nagin have been
saying what a great job they're doing,
which is TOTALLY WRONG!

Cooper told her flatout, it's not true,
b/c people haven't been given water,
ice, food. People are lying dead all
over the streets......you know the
devastation.

Perhaps their pictures are better, but the snide, anti-Bush comments from morning to night are beyond copeable. They are not reporting news anymore....they are simply bashing Bush on all counts, blaming him for everything and anything. They are gawd awful overall.

FDR and Huey Long. They had all those CCC workers and didn't get the levees built right when they had the chance to do it

I loved it the other night when the cop ignored him.

That, and when he was on Bourbon Street pre-storm (before he got a camera crew) and asked a pedestrian "why in the world" he hadn't evacuated.

The walker came through loud and clear: "None of your f***king business".

Bumping your link!
Great post!

Katrina reporting kinda reminds me of the reporting from Iraq.

The idiot Paula Zahn is on now...I watched her for ... probably less than a second. She is absurd in her questions and her coverage. CNN has completely lost it, they are not reporting any news, they are only out to blame Bush for everything. They suck.

>>>Prez George helped Jeb hand out food and water in Florida last year. No mayhem, no panic, so where is the gov and mayor of La/NO?>>>

I wonder if the American people will notice the difference between Jeb, Barber and Blanco. Doubt it.

I agree with you totally.

The bigger question is what to do about it. Posturing and making statements such as "looting must stop", "looting must not be tolerated", "lawlessness must end NOW" is pointless.

The following three words will go a long way toward stemming the problem: SHOOT TO KILL.

All the people who are capable of doing the sort of things you list evacuated the city when ordered to by their government. All that was left in the city was the misfits. I like the way you write though. You make some very good points.
