The "battle reports" comming from New Orleans do not sound typical of criminal activity, not at all, criminal do not stand and fight law enforcement, they run.

I guess you're never seen a riot in Southern California or South Florida.

Or Newark, Detroit, DC, etc. In the late 60s, there was practically a riot every week.
