Hey Ford, you need to ask your folks to stop looting and the local Mayor to get his ass back to town!

First failure - Mayor.
Second failure - Morons who did not leave.
Third failure - Governor.
Fourth failure - See second failure.

Bush had to take over a failed implementation just like he did from Klintoon.

Spoken by a member of one of the more crooked political families in Tennessee - after the family of honest Al Gore that is.

Heck I thought from the title that former President Gerald Ford was blasting Bush now.

When I saw Harold Ford Jr. I just laughed.

JUNIOR is a donkey's behind.

LA Gov Blanco a Dem could have declared Martial Law right after the storm hit or even before, yet she didn't do so until late yesterday after the looting and violence was allowed to escalate.

For that matter knowing how destructive Katrina was predicted to be why didn't she declare Martial Law and force those people out there by saving their lives at the very least.

Some of the blame for the deaths should fall on her shoulders.

FEMA director Brown just gave one example of how difficult this situation is. After a reporter asked why it took two days to evacuate a hospital, Brown pointed out that for every person coming out of NO, they had to find a place to put them, without disrupting the lives and care of others. Cardiac patients have to be placed in other hospitals that have that kind of care.

And when consider that many of the inland cities surrounding New Orleans are also saturated (and also damaged) with the rest of New Orleans population, you might make a bad situation worse. When you consider that we are dealing with a city of over 1.3 million people (with 300,000 who stayed), this is a monumental task.

As someone who visited the Tsunami region, Brown noted this situation is indeed, much more complicated. Unlike Asia where the tide withdrew, you had a continually increasing dangerous situation as the city continued to fill. The Army engineers said they couldn't plug the levees while they were still running...they had to wait until it equalized. You can't fly 40 choopers all over the place for fear of collusions...and weapons fire. heck, you can't even land them in certain areas because even a dry ground is saturated.

These people are moving the population of a major CITY to various locations around the country, trying to do so without destabilizing the host areas. The idea that this could be done in 24-48 hours under the best of circumstances...without effecting the lives of other regions, is wrong.

I also find this hypocrisy amazing, as no one is asking why the Mayor and Governor of this state didn't move these people out of the path of this Cat-5 hurricane when they had several days to do so. Yet, they are expecting the federal government to do just that under the worst of circumstances.

ESAD Ford!

Of course any effort by the feds to secure free benefits for those in genuine need would pale in comparison to your expertise in securing free government money and giveaway programs for the constituents that voted for you-- most of which are worthless freeloaders and leeches on society.

So at least you are in a position to judge them, in your own antiproductive way.

By the way I just made a generous contribution to the campaign of Van Hilleary, who is about to kick your ass in the Tennessee race for U.S. Senate.

Harold Ford will be on Imus come Monday morning spouting this same garbage. And Imus will be too uninformed (and biased), to remind him how inept the Louisiana leadership has been. Neither will mention how differently things have been handled in Alabama and Mississippi.

"Ford said his criticism wasn’t made for political gain."

Isn't his statement by its very nature political?

What a bottom-feeding POS.

If this flood happened in 1991, we would have seen a relatively unknown but upcoming Bill Clinton step to fore with "come together" language, putting him to the head of the line.

Dems today have nobody with a modicum of real people skills. They don't even pretend to have these skills.

The media is trying to deflect responsibility to the President because it's clear that the mayor is an idiot and the governor weak and indecisive.

The fact is that they did not order the mandatory evacuation until it was too late. President Bush had to beg them to give the order.

When they made the announcement they did not seem confident and did not enforce the evacuation. The talking points are to blame Bush.
