What is all the fuss about showing a single dead body on TV for a few secs?

It is just a little piece of REALITY of thousands dead, rotting, decomposing human bodies that survivors have no choice but to face.

The rest of America should have a little fortitude.

In the case of the World Trade Center on 9-11, it might cause people to think badly of Muslims. ;^P

Maybe the initial poster thinks that Reality on TV should be limited to shows like Survivor or the other "reality" shows.

Maybe he/she thinks that stuff IS reality.

Disasters are nasty business. People die during them. Bodies lie in the street because there's no place for them to go.

But, heaven forfend that the poster should have to SEE them. I guess his TV has no off switch.

Something to ponder/consider... what if it's your brother, sister, aunt, uncle, child, mom, dad or wife that's the "dead, rotting, decomposing human body" being splashed across the TV screen worldwide for mankind to gawk and stare at? Much like most do when rubber-necking at a trainwreck or vehicle head-on collision. The only need to see it is to satisfy one's personal need to view the macabre and grisly. Reporting that there are dead bodies laying around and floating in New Orleans should be sufficient news to give people the facts of reality. Showing pictures of it is just to add shock value for ratings. I'm not trying to stir the pot here, just offering another perspective from someone who's experienced it, and as one praying not to see one of my friend's faces on TV.
