Wouldn't have to fire a shot. That, and I'm sure the sight of his buddy sucked U/W and disappearing would cause some concern.
Absolutely. You can be sure that the looters are monitoring FR and the internet in order to gain operational intelligence.
That's a good story--when the bullets are flying people start bending the rules. I'll tell you one thing...the right thing to do here, both morally and politically, is to bend the rules and use the military for rescue operations if necessary and to scare the hell out of rioters with the mere appearance of heavy machine guns.
Please, stop trying to eat while typing. :)
Especially without electricity to recharge the batteries.
Something one uses with a Delta.
OK.
Hi dude.
Hold on a sec...I just got an e-mail news alert about sniper fire on a hospital...
(snicker)
They need to have deadly force and take them out!! I heard on the radio that one of the hospitals had to stop evac because of sniper fire. I can't even put into words what low down scumbags, filth of the earth would act in such a way. Every bad word I've ever heard in my life isn't bad enough to describe these thugs!
ping
#2 I hope that they can back them up quickly with a significant presence of visible ground units providing a secure corridor for evacuating refugees.
There is no Dboys there. But, Miss. and Alabama both have 20th Special Forces companies there. Same abilites as active guys just guard.
They might be mobilized to go to NO.
Delta is too busy in Iraq to deal with anything.
It really does make me angry, too. The Delta Forces and National Guard can't get their fast enough. To think that these thugs are not concerned with getting out themselves or helping others, but rather shooting those others trying to get out, and targeting the weak in hospitals. It was one thing to take a TV. Bad enough. So the store may have insurance. And the goods may be saved from being ruined. But then what? There's no power, they can't use them. They won't be able to take it with them when they are evacuated. Ok, maybe for some it's just the stress, but the thugs firing on police trying to save people and stealing from and shooting at medical centers - that is the bottom. And I guess the situation after dark is like out of some terrible movie. And I couldn't help but notice that all the thugs are well armed. I keep reminding myself that most of the people are decent and stressed beyond belief, and focusing on that as much as I can. Then I read another story like this one, and the bad words pop up ...
Prayers for the safety of the Teams!
The scumbags are fixing to get a reality check...
"Wow, a whole 20-30 guys "
You could be right. I doubt they have any idea what they're getting into, unless they've really been in there for awhile.
I bet that this is pure B.S.
Really? These aren't suicidal jihadist or kamikazies we're dealing with here; these are desperate people made brazen by a lack of authority.
You start having members of roving gangs, openly armed, given warning to disarm...then have those who refuse dropped one by one by an unseen sniper, I think they'll get the message that the rules of the game have changed.
You see a member of your looting posse's head explode by a high-powered round delivered between the eyes, and stealing that pack of smokes from the corner store doesn't seem that important anymore. Fun's over at that point and you think twice about doing it.
